This lamp is black and brown. The base and top are brown and black with a little silver. The pole is smooth and brown and the browns don't even match. The shape is okay except I was not expecting a smooth pole. Instead of sending back, (which I should have done) I spray painted it silver. It is acceptable.

The lamps arrived in perfect condition (again, excellent packaging) and were very simple to assemble. They are substantial and are black with silver painted accents. Very nice detailing. The shade is beautiful, frosted glass with a swirl pattern. These are tall, reasonably heavy and cast great light.

I love these lamps and love that they come in a set. Easy to put together and stylish.

I was looking for a good way to have indirect, but effective lighting in our living/dining room. Although I only wanted one light originally, I'm am please with the set for they really fill the fill area (24x15) with better light since we have limited table lighting and only a small area of overhead lights.

They look very nice in the living room. The style is more 90's but the sturdy construction and the colors make it very nice.

These lamps are nice for the price. They were easy to assemble and feel substantial and sturdy. The shades were a bit larger than I'd anticipated, but they are glass and of nice quality. The only reason I am not giving these five stars is that the base and the top are plastic and I would have preferred metal. All in all, though, I am satisfied with this purchase. And, as always, I am very pleased with Overstock.

The first thing to note about these lamps is that they come in the cheapest styrofoam imaginable—in the few hours it was on my porch before I got home from work, some of the styrofoam liquified and is now permanently glued to the power cord. Furthermore, if you so much as touch the styrofoam it will half-crumble and you'll be left with styrofoam on your hands… and more styrofoam that will cling to everything else in sight. - - - - - The lamps themselves are decent. The torchiere style seems to be a poor combination with CFL bulbs because they tend to project light out rather than up; the frosted glass, while pretty, ends up absorbing most of the light, so you really need both lamps to light a single room, and even that is imperfect and dim. However, the base of the lamps doesn't seem to be weighted evenly, so they stand crooked on carpet. It would probably be fine on hardwood or similar, but it takes some careful balancing work to get them to stand up straight on my carpet. My wife doesn't seem to mind, but the crooked lampposts drive me nuts.

I purchased these lamps to add to our family room, which needed more light and decor. They came very quickly and were easy to put together. I've seen similar lamps for the same price for just one! I'm very happy with this purchase.

Great lamps! I thought they'd be a little more bronze colored however that is a simple fix. They are very sturdy. Tall. Large light. They are the perfect fit for my living room. They shipped fast and were easy to assembly.

These are very nice lamps, but the glass is wighter then they look in the picture. Easy to assemble.

I am glad that I bought the torchères from overstock. I use one in my living room where it comes on at night thanks to a timer and the other one is in the family room. Their assembly was easy. their appearance adds to the décor of the rooms where they are put. I was pleasantly surprised to see that three way bulbs can be used... another plus.
