We had no trouble installing this product, (ceiling mount). The quality is excellent as is the finish. I hung 108" heavy blackout drapes and have not one concern about the product withstanding the weight; I am very pleased with the end result.
Its really hard to find a long enough curtain rod for our windows in our living room but this worked out perfect. The rod arrived quickly, with all its parts and was easy to install. The pewter finish matched our homes brushed nickel finishes well. The only problem with the set is that it only comes with one center support and for that long of a span it could of used two middle supports. The rod kinda dropped in the middle. My husband fixed this problem but installing the center support slightly higher that the two ends and with curtains on the rod its not noticeable.
I bought a lot of these curtain rods (seven) and they were excellent as they were strong and heavy for the long spans I needed and look great. No sag on my heavy curtains and easy to install. I would recommend buying stronger anchors than they send you (as I did) but that is a minor issue.
Amazing for the price.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Wanted pewter got pewter
Please tell us about the quality of the product. Excellent well made strong and sturdy for such a long stretch
How accurate was the on site description of the product? Accurate
This is a great rod, but the mounting hardware leaves something to be desired. The instructions say to use a 3/16 drill bit, but that was too snug for the plastic piecces that hold the screws, and the 1/4 bit seemed to be too big. I bought some other stuff from my local hardware store when the little plastic pieces broke when I was hammering them into the wall. Once I got better ones, it was a breeze.
Did the color match the color displayed onsite? yes
How is the quality of the product? Good
Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? Yes
I am quite happy with the purchase of this rod. My only complain is that the setup instructions were misleading. It could have just been my particular set, but the instructions for installing the anchors (what you place the screws into) said to drill 3/16 of an inch holes. However, the anchors themselves were more like 3.5/16 of an inch, maybe 3.25/16 when fully compressed. They had no hope of fitting into a 3/16 inch hole. This resulted in a half hour of fancy drill work to get my holes all setup and properly aligned so they could actually hold the anchors. After that all was smooth. The rod itself looks super fancy and was pretty cheap.
How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Perfect
Please tell us about the quality of the product. The rod is quite durable and looks great

Bought curtains for in front of our sliding glass door. The rod was advertised with the curtain. While the curtain fits on the rod, it does not slide properly. You have to push each grommet individually .
Once I get My Curtains on this Rod, I'm gonna be so HAPPY!!! the contrast of the rod to the curtains, to the color of My Living Room, to the Area Rug, to My Wall Painting...is going to be ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!!
this curtain rod is on our window but the end came bent but I did not want to send it back with a hassle to mail back to made it work it looked like someone had already returned before i bought so it is hard to say but it works so that is all i have to say, the window is huge and this was the only size i could find that would fit so it works and the black out curtains hide any flaws in the bent rod it is sad to say but i choose to keep I am sure overstock would have replaced i still believe in them as a company but if the rod came back to them bent some one should have defected it out and not returned to stock to sell
I have it on top of the window frame and it is holding two sets of black out curtains not sure about the ceilingnancytravis on Apr 17, 2014
i wonder how it attaches on the wall, it looks like the hole is on the celling, not on the wallweighy on Apr 4, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
No, the illustration is just to show you what the brackets looks like. as if you were on the ceiling looking down. I have 3 of these poles and they are all mounted directly on the wall, a few inches above the window woodwork.myoho6 on Apr 5, 2014
I have this pole in Pewter, but when hanging curtains one of the mounting brackets broke. Is there any source for replacing merely the mounting bracket?jkarol on Apr 2, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

I am looking for a rod for Solid Insulated Thermal Blackout Panel Pair (63-inch). I am purchasing 2 sets of 2 as the length of the windows are 135. Would this curtain rod be sturdy to hold the curtains and would the rod pocket fit the curtains? The curtains indicate it will work with rods up to 1.5 inches in diameter.glg513 on Jan 31, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
I have two sets 95" insulated thermal blackout curtains on these rods, and they hold up beautifully. They're the kind with grommets. My only complaint is they don't slide well. You sound like your curtains have a pocket, and I don't know how well they will slide given the thickness of the rod/size of the pocket. (I found a solution for the grommets not sliding well by googling 'teflon tape'. It's amazing--you apply this thin strip of tape to the top of the rod and the grommets now slide perfectly!allison011 on Feb 4, 2014
You could use clip rings. They look better, come in your size, and slide easier. Rod pocket curtains are better stationary .cna be found discounted at Ross, Tuesday morn and online.squeekee1 on Mar 3, 2014
Meant to say: discounted clip rings can be found at stores like Ross, Tues Morn, etc.squeekee1 on Mar 3, 2014

My window measures 144" from the end of the frame to end of frame. Is the 90 - 144 sufficient?karen62251 on Nov 3, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hi karen62251, thank you for your inquiry. The 144 will fit the window perfect !overstockcustomercare1 on Nov 13, 2013
In total, how far does the rod, including end cap, stick out from where the curtain can be hung. I see from previous answers that that the end cap is 2", but the picture shows that a part of the rod sticks out past the mounting brackets. I have a window that is next to the wall.
Also, I see this question asked but not answered. I would like to hang a single heavier curtain over a sliding glass door (72" wide), and be able to open the curtain all to one side. I would not be able to use the center support. Do you expect that this would work, with stronger screws and without sagging of the curtain rod?jm36 on Oct 25, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
^6ft should not be a problem without support.I measured short of 2" approximately 1 3/4",that is at it's closest to the bracket.Hope this helps.alwayslooking41 on Nov 1, 2013
Is this rod hollow, so that I can reinforce with a dowel rod inside the rod?sgschroe on Oct 19, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Yes, the 3 rod sections are hollow and could accommodate a reinforcement dowell.kfreeland on Oct 19, 2013
You don't need to reinforce. It's sturdy and so are the finials and the U bars can be moved to coincide with a stud in the wall for security without compromising look. Or try metal molly bolt.lisa459 on Oct 20, 2013

Hello uchrn, these are made for indoors. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions. Thank you for shopping with us!overstockcustomercare1 on Jun 6, 2013
The description read "for indoor or outdoor" use. I used them indoor and they look "finished" enough to use inside. Given that they are a metal, I see why they are recommended for outside, but I would only use them in a covered setting (not directly exposed to outside elements).decafpeppermintmocha on Jun 11, 2013
Can this be ceiling mounted? I've seen answers below saying yes, but the brackets don't look like they can be positioned to be ceiling mounted...cuz if i do that, it looks like the rod will fall out of the brackets.

I think that you can mount it on the ceiling you just have to be careful how you do it.jtbc on Mar 26, 2013
Absolutely! Just make sure you secure the brackets with the hardware included and the rod should not come down.1lifeisgood on Mar 27, 2013
Were you able to ceiling mount this rod? An answer given under the smaller rod says it can not be done and the larger rod says it can. Did it work for you?
