    We had no trouble installing this product, (ceiling mount). The quality is excellent as is the finish. I hung 108" heavy blackout drapes and have not one concern about the product withstanding the weight; I am very pleased with the end result.

  • Plastic pieces not the best, but a good product...

    This is a great rod, but the mounting hardware leaves something to be desired. The instructions say to use a 3/16 drill bit, but that was too snug for the plastic piecces that hold the screws, and the 1/4 bit seemed to be too big. I bought some other stuff from my local hardware store when the little plastic pieces broke when I was hammering them into the wall. Once I got better ones, it was a breeze.

  • Good for big windows

    Its really hard to find a long enough curtain rod for our windows in our living room but this worked out perfect. The rod arrived quickly, with all its parts and was easy to install. The pewter finish matched our homes brushed nickel finishes well. The only problem with the set is that it only comes with one center support and for that long of a span it could of used two middle supports. The rod kinda dropped in the middle. My husband fixed this problem but installing the center support slightly higher that the two ends and with curtains on the rod its not noticeable.

  • Rod looks great, but setup was a little misleading

    I am quite happy with the purchase of this rod. My only complain is that the setup instructions were misleading. It could have just been my particular set, but the instructions for installing the anchors (what you place the screws into) said to drill 3/16 of an inch holes. However, the anchors themselves were more like 3.5/16 of an inch, maybe 3.25/16 when fully compressed. They had no hope of fitting into a 3/16 inch hole. This resulted in a half hour of fancy drill work to get my holes all setup and properly aligned so they could actually hold the anchors. After that all was smooth. The rod itself looks super fancy and was pretty cheap.

  • Sturdy rods

    I bought a lot of these curtain rods (seven) and they were excellent as they were strong and heavy for the long spans I needed and look great. No sag on my heavy curtains and easy to install. I would recommend buying stronger anchors than they send you (as I did) but that is a minor issue. Amazing for the price.

  • A great choice, if you can get it anchored properl

    I searched for several months for an affordable, but high quality window rod set to fit my triple window. (I prefer wood rods and the options I initially considered cost $400-$700 for the triple window hardware and rings.) Based on my good history on Overstock with window hardware - and the other reviews for this product on Overstock - I purchased it. I realized (from other reviewers) that I would need better anchors than the ones provided. However, I had more trouble than I expected. First, we tossed the included anchors and upgraded to 50lb anchors for all three mounting brackets (which should be 150lb of weight, right?). Within 10 MINUTES OF HANGING the curtains, the brackets were literally pulling out of the wall. I was shocked and disappointed. At that point - and with six holes in the wall (and no studs) - we purchased 100lb anchors to support the brackets. The heavier supports DO WORK, but they diameter of the screw is larger than the hole in the mounting bracket. So, we had to ask a friend with a drill press to enlarge the holes a bit. Now that it is all said and done, I am very pleased with this set. But all the warnings about insufficient anchors provided in the set are 100% true. Be prepared to deal with this problem in installation. I would also suggest that you hang only lightweight curtains on this rod set. I have custom curtains in a cotton blend that are lined with a (non black-out) brushed lining. I do love the finish of the set! I would recommend it as long as you are fully aware that you will deal with installation issues.

The description read "for indoor or outdoor" use. I used them indoor and they look "finished" enough to use inside. Given that they are a metal, I see why they are recommended for outside, but I would only use them in a covered setting (not directly exposed to outside elements). decafpeppermintmocha on Jun 11, 2013

You have conflicting answers below. One person asked if this is wall or ceiling mounted and someone answered yes in Jan 2013. Another person asked if it was wall mountable and you answered no in Dec 2012. In Mar 2012, you answered that it was either ceiling or wall mount. So is it wall mountable or not? Curtain hardware is adjustable from 90 inches to 144 inches long without saying that it requires a center bracket. The weight of the curtain may make a big difference. Feel free to read the reviews as some customers say that they had no sagging using a long span. The Bold Pole bracket projection is adjustable between 3.5" - 5.5" - Total length of bracket in the smallest position is 4.5" and when adjusted to the longest projection total length of bracket is 6.5" - the rod will not "stick out" as far, only the brackets will extend approx an extra inch out from the wall. overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 4, 2012
