  • These aren't what you think

I was looking for a really long rod for my oversized patio doors. There are many rods out there but you have to piece them together which creates a catch each place the rods telescope together. I wanted to avoid the telescoping because I want the curtains to be pulled to only one side of the window. I thought this rod would be long enough with only 2 peices. This rod had SEVEN peices! I put it together and it bowed without support, as you would expect with all these peices. I sent it back and ended up ordering a 12 foot brass pole from another place.

  • Bold Pole curtain rod up to 240 inches . .Yeah

I have a 12' and 16' foot sliding glass doors and had two sets of cheap verticals on the 16 footer. I have never been able to afford a rod to fit either! These rods are beautiful and sturdy, could not be more pleased and the price is right! I have never written a review before, but realized how much I rely on others opinions, so felt I should let others know that this is a classy looking rod and and hubby had no problems with installation. Thanks Overstock!

  • Great Quality

It is very difficult to ind a rod this long and it is both perfect in length and sturdy as well. I was a little worried that it would bend and sag because I only wanted to use one bracket in the middle. There is no problem. The rod comes with many brackets in case you are interested in bracing the rod in several places for an extra heavy curtain. I highly recommend this product; it is a great buy!

    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. Sturdy and well finished
    • How accurate was the on site description of the product? Accurate
  • Great ROd

If you are looking for a long thick heavy duty rod this is the curtain rod for you I am using this rod in my living rooms over three windows which span 195 inches. I ordered the antique brown and to my surprise the color was spot on with the color I saw on website. I was very picky about finding a rod with the shortest projection from the wall and this fit the bill to a T. As other reviewers stated the box was pretty banged up and the rod was a bit scratched and the inside of one of the connections was bent a bit. The scratches are not noticeable way up and no will ever know. All I had to do was get a hammer and bang out the flattened side on one of the poles. All of the wall mounts, wall anchors for sheet rock and screws were included which was a HUGE BONUS!! The instructions were clear and straight forward, however hanging a curtain rod is not rocket science. Over all if you are looking for a decorative rod with a short projection and a petite yet stylish finial this is the rod for you!

  • Bolted to the Ceiling

We bolted this to the ceiling and used only 3 brackets, one in the middle and one on each side. It looks great and is holding up just fine. Our curtains are not that heavy though, But it would probably hold a heavier one too. I recommend it to anyone looking for a long window pole.

  • Strong, durable rod

Good looking rod and highly durable; no sagging. This rod is used for a long window span and it's very strong. We only used one support in the middle. My curtains are 120" long and the grommets move freely on the rod. Great purchase.

I was looking for an extra long rod for over a 12.5 ft bay window and this was recommended. It was easy to install and looks nice. Great value.

  • perfect solution

We needed 167 inches of rod. Buying two rods and following the directions worked perfectly. It fit together and works great! It came with hardware and anchors but we needed to use our own anchors. For some reason we could not get the provided anchors into the wall. They were not as strong as ours and bent going in.

  • Good value for size needed

Good value for this product. We have a long area to have for curtains/drapes. Best bang for your buck for an extra long curtain rod. Only downside is you can't have curtains that slide the length of the rod because of the brackets. It looks great!

Ask a Question

I'm sure the answer is easy and I'm not seeing it but I just received this and can't figure out how to put the two sets together to make one long rod. The smaller diameter rods only fit on the end so how do you get the larger diameter rods to join? chakamama on Nov 7, 2014

Answer This Question

Figure it out. The plastic pieces on the end were wonky so I took them out and shaved them down and now they connect. Thanks! chakamama on Nov 7, 2014

I followed the diagram and it showed which end went with which. Once we followed it there was no problem Start with end put in a middle piece, then end piece then middle piece and so on. It will all slide together to make the correct dimension. We left out two pieces. Didn't need it. dpino on Nov 12, 2014

Answer This Question

Hello skagitbeagle, this will adjust up to 240 inches, the rod adjusts from 86 inches to 144 inches, when the two rods are combined they can adjust to 240 inches, so you should be able to adjust this to 190 when using both rods. Thanks for shopping with us! A.S. overstockcustomercare2 on Nov 6, 2014

Hello kalee74, This rod is 1.25 inches in diameter. We carry many types and styles of curtain rings. Simply use our Search feature to search for curtain rings, and look for styles that can accommodate a rod of this size. You would want to choose curtain rings that are 2 inches or bigger. I hope this helps, thanks for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 18, 2014

Hello, I have doors spanning 178 inches and I want to hang grommet curtains on each side (approx 110 in panels on each side). How many brackets would I need to support the rod across the doors and will I be able to slide the grommets across the entire span or will the brackets prohibit that from happening? lbnelson02 on Jan 12, 2014

Answer This Question

Hello lbnelson02, This beautiful rod set has received excellent reviews! We would suggest 5 brackets for the span of 178 inches. However, the brackets will not allow the grommet curtains to slide freely across the entire span. I hope this information helps. Thanks for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 21, 2014

I used this same size rod for 187" and I only needed - left bracket, middle support bracket, and right bracket. My curtains were not heavy as they didn't have linings. I had five panels to the left of the middle bracket and five to the right... so I slide them accordingly when I want to open or close the curtains. You will not need 5 brackets! if your curtains are not heavy. mona2010 on Jan 29, 2014

I only used three brackets (right, left, middle) for some fairly lightweight curtains and it seems to work fine. Because the thickness of the rod however, my grometted curtains do not slide easily, especially at the connection sites. bk00 on Feb 26, 2014
