The description doesn't say mini...I should have known, but these are REALLY little! You literally can only put 2 teaspoons of batter in each well. So if you make a full recipe, even at 3 minutes per batch, be prepared to be making donuts for hours! There are only 4 recipes included; "basic," "cheese," "peanut butter & honey," and a "healthy" recipe with OJ, bran cereal & raisins (shudder!). Also, there's a variation with choc chips but I don't recommend that; they get burned and then the melted pockets of chocolate make it hard to take out the donuts without breaking them.I'm not sure if I should keep this...the price, the storage space...I do a little catering & like to go to potlucks, so I thought I might be able to use this, but am thinking I should have gone with mini-donut baking pans. However, if you do get this, I recommend chilling the batter and putting in a pastry bag or tube. This will cut down on drips and the risk of burning the back of your hand (the top flips up to about a 90 degree angle and is very HOT). I just tried this with pre-made brownie batter, and it worked very well. Spooning in the batter, I accidentally filled in several of the holes, which burned; but the pastry bag worked like a dream. And the brownie-donuts were a perfect crunchy-gooey texture! I might try this with cookie dough, too...mmmmmm...
What a wast of money! The donuts are so small, they would fit into a squirrel's hand. This machine cooks only one side and the donuts come out looking more like mini pancakes.......but only half done. I followed the recipe and was very disappointed with the results. Save your money. By the way, donuts are fried for a reason. That's what makes them taste so good. If you are looking for a healthy snack, you are better off with store bought rice cakes. This thing is a joke.
Product looked just like the picture. Very well made, simple to use, and does what it says it will do.....cook donuts. The maker produces very small donuts and the ones I cooked came out dry..........not moist. I was personally disappointed in this product but someone else might love it. Just depends on how you like your donuts.
I have never been so disappointed in my life. It was never revealed that they were mini donuts. The receipe was a failure too. I would never recomend it to anyone. I would have sent it back but I am trying to find a receipe that will work. I was in the market for regular doughnuts so that I could make them healthy and with sugar sub. as my husband is a diabetic.
What fun! Delish mini 2 bite ( or one!) donuts in 3 minutes. Kids and adults had fun making and eating these. Timewise, no different than making pancakes or waffles for breakfast just a smaller scale.--and more fun.Followed the basic recipe in the book and made them gluten-free with Pamela's GF Baking Mix.Definitely happy with this product. Would make a great gift for anyone.
The product is very easy to use, the non stick surface is great. It is just a little bit messy, when pouring the batter. The small size of the donut maker makes for easy storage. Also it is very easy to clean.
Emailed manufacturer because recipe for donutmaker was terrible and knew there were errors. Got a response but no satisfaction from them. No corrected recipe is available they said. Not the kind of answer you want when you purchased two of the same product. Disappointed in their attitude, like the size and number of mini donuts you can make. Would I purchase a product by this company again, doubt it.
This donut make was complete hit during our holiday party. The kids had a blast making the donuts very moist and delicious.
I bought this donut factory for my 8 year old daughter's birthday and she absolutely loves it! Not only is it adorable and child-safe, it makes great donuts and the recipes are super easy to follow. I loved the box, too! It makes such a cute gift!
