Beautiful piece, and a good value BUT took husband better part of the day to assemble. He is a mechanical engineer! AND our AV receiver and direct tv box would not fit with the back of the unit attached! Have to modify the back to extend the depth.Read More
Easy to assemble and a good looking piece of furniture. Arrived quickly and as promised. I liked it so much I bought one for a friend - now that's a friend!!!Read More
This item is not solid wood as indicated in the description. It's more like wood veneer and MDF. This is the main reason I am disappointed. Also several pieces were damaged. It doesn't seem to be from shipping damage but more like it was already damaged when packed. Further, two cam locks broke as I tightened them with a manual screw driver. Considering the price of this piece, it's a decent value. However, I would not have minded paying more for solid wood.Read More
I love it! Really good quality, easy to put together. I'm so happy I got itRead More
Looks like something you would put together. Took forever to put together. I think I broke 5 of the clamp screws as they did not go together as easy as one would imagine. Lining up the doors was an issue with the cheap hinges. For the price I would purchase something already put together. Cheap qualityRead More
I don't know much about furniture, but my husband loves this console. It didn't take too long to build and the end product has quality that will last. This experience has made me a believer in online shopping.Read More
This was everything I expected. The description on the website was spot on. Came in with no problems and pretty easy to put together. There are several steps so just lay out all the pieces and follow the directions. Great quality and looks awesome.Read More
We needed a console for our new 52" flat screen TV and, after searching many other sites, found this console on overstock. The quality is excellent, especially for the price. It does require a lot of assembly but the directions were good and everything fit together nicely. It took two of us a little over an hour to assemble it. Some of the locking nuts snapped when we tried to tighten them but we were able to find the same size at the hardware store (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars). I looked at consoles that were twice as expensive and weren't the size we needed. If you don't mind doing the assembly, this is a nice piece of furniture and is definitely worth the price.Read More
I love this TV stand. I worked for a boutique furniture at the time of my purchase, but we didn't offer many black pieces of furniture, and I was not interested in paying $600 - $2000 for a TV stand. I ordered this from Overstock based on the reviews, size, style and price. At this point, I've had it for nearly a year and I still enjoy it. It was not too difficult to assemble by myself and the end result is a great quality, sturdy, attractive piece of furniture. I have a 55" plasma and it fits very well on the stand. My Wii, BluRay player and Fios box fit inside just fine. I would recommend this stand with confidence!Read More
I live in a small 1 bdr apt, so this fit perfectly for my needs. It generally seems like a high quality product for the price paid. It was relatively easy to assemble, although I've never used so many dowl rods and cam bolts. There are plenty of extra screws etc, which at first caused concern ha, but then I realized they just sent extras. Be sure to really tighten the cam bolts when assembling, that would be the one negative thing that I could list about this product so far.Read More

Entertainment Center Buying Guide
While your television set may be the focal point of your home entertainment activities, what it sits on -- or in -- says a lot about who you are. Is your TV still sitting atop that beaten up particle board TV stand that you bought at a garage sale 10 years ago? Perhaps it's time to upgrade your living room furniture, starting with a new entertainment center. Home entertainment centers have been around a long time and have evolved quite a bit from the massive wooden cabinets of the 1960s and 1970s. Which entertainment center is right for you will depend on what you want to use it for, the components you want it to store and your personal taste in furniture.
Tips on Choosing Discount Plasma TV Stands
When it comes to a new entertainment center, you can save a bundle by shopping for discount plasma TV stands. When you're shopping on a budget or just want to save a few extra bucks, you can often find discount plasma TV stands with the same quality as TV consoles that aren't on sale. Whether you are looking for flat-screen TV wall mounts, a swivel TV stand, a TV armoire or any type of television stand, you can find cheap TV stands for your big screen TV without sacrificing style. When you are looking for discount plasma TV stands, here are a few tips to finding one that will be perfect for your home.
TV Stand Buying Guide
Lately, television consoles, stands and storage racks have been exhibiting updated designs, sporting storage for your media essentials in models that are tastefully coordinated to the rest of your living room furniture. Compact TV stands and corner TV stands are convenient in smaller apartments, dorm rooms and offices, but even large homes can benefit from the clean look and discreet presence of a television stand. As more people upgrade to lean flat-panel televisions, they are seeing that the smaller size of a TV stand is all they need. The furniture industry usually reserves the term "entertainment center" for the largest TV furniture, big enough for the television, a cadre of audio or video components and a full CD-DVD collection. TV stands tend to be smaller than full entertainment centers while still having enough shelves for a few components and some media storage. For smaller homes or for smaller rooms in larger homes a stand may be all the TV furniture you need.

LCD TVs vs Plasma TVs
Flat-screen TVs seem to be everywhere. For you, the choice may seem like a toss-up between plasma TVs and LCD TVs. These competing technologies each have advantages, so it's important to consider your specific needs before purchasing a flat-screen TV. If you are highly knowledgeable, you may want to consider the more technical specifications of LCD and plasma TVs. This is a fast-moving technology, so the advantages of each technology may soon even out with one another. Until then, here are some facts that may help you with the choice between plasma and LCD TV technology. Price differences. While price is important, it doesn't tell the whole story when comparing LCD and plasma. In the past, plasma TVs were slightly less expensive than LCD TVs of the same size, and the price differential became greater as the size of the television increased. The gap in price has narrowed between flat-screen technologies, though. Price is probably the least important factor, especially since you can find good deals on both plasma TVs and LCD TVs. Use. How you use your TV matters. Plasma TV screens are prone to "burn-in," a problem in which still or static images can be more or less permanently imprinted on the screen. This is of particular concern if you play video games, which tend to display static images for long periods of time in the same location on the screen. Fortunately, newer plasma TVs are less vulnerable to burn-in. If you plan to use your flat-screen TV for video games or other static images, LCD TVs may be a better choice. Environmental considerations. LCD TVs use an average of one-third to one-half as much energy as a plasma TV of the same size. The difference comes from the different lighting technologies. If you are concerned about your energy consumption, LCD is a greener choice. As technology improves, plasma TVs may improve their energy consumption. Lifespan. When early models of LCD TVs and plasma TVs were compared, LCD had the longer lifespan. But plasma technology has improved, and plasmas now boast a lifespan equal to LCDs. Most flat-screen TVs claim around a 60,000-hour lifespan. Depending on your usage, this means your flat-screen TV should last 20 years or more. The only parts of an LCD TV that wear out are the bulbs that illuminate the LCD screen. On a plasma TV, the bulbs will also go out before the screen does. Size and weight. LCD TVs are typically much lighter and less bulky than plasma TVs of the same size. Plasma TVs use glass for their screens, which is heavier and more fragile than the plastic used for LCD TVs. When mounting a large flat-screen TV on a wall, use a flat-screen TV mount and be sure that the wall can support your TV's weight. Picture. Both LCD TVs and plasma TVs produce amazing high-definition picture quality. Plasma TVs typically display blacks more clearly and show crisper detail during fast-moving programming, like sporting events. LCD TV technology is catching up, though, and LCD TVS usually offer greater native screen resolution than plasma TVs. This means more pixels per square inch, for a sharper overall picture. LCD TVs can lose picture quality when viewed at an angle. Some models do better than others on this, so be sure to do your research on any LCD TV's viewing angles.
