This is my first experience with Overstock. My entryway needed a place for mail, keys, extra stashing for when company comes.... this piece came up when I was looking for a console or sideboard. Pictures always make things look bigger and better than they are, but this is a pretty accurate representation. It is a small piece (look at the measurements - it's not very tall or wide) but the drawers are much roomier than I thought they would be. It came within 10 days and was well packaged. I had no pieces with nicks or problems, wasn't missing any screw holes, etc. The instructions are clear but NOT as clear as they could be. Take it slow and make sense of what is the front and back of each piece (don't trust what side the sticker is on). The wicker drawers smelled TERRIBLE, I was nervous I'd have to send it back or something, but I left them outside for 24 hours and they aired out just fine. I love this piece and may even get the one that has the trash can for another spot in my kitchen.
Bought a few years ago. Still looks beautiful and very functional.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? Very nice color
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Great product
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? very accurate
I love the furniture is is perfect for my small space and it was easy to put together, I was able to finish in two hours by my self.
Cabinent arrived in perfect condition. It looks great in my entryway and the baskets are very handy for mittens, gloves, sunglasses etc. I would highly recommend this purchase to anyone who needs extra storage in a small area.
After reading the reviews for this sideboard, I must admit I was a bit skeptical at first about buying it, but I listened to my gut and went ahead and did it anyway. I can say, i'm not regretting it. The "scratches" everyone is talking about seem to be a part of the peice...I looked at the picture on overstock after putting it together and the white lines are on the picture as well...Personally I don't think it looks bad, and definately I don't think they are there as a result of poor quality like others suggest. It was a little challenging to put together, as it took me about an hour and a half, but if you have any common sense you can figure it out. It's not impossible. I think it's worth it. If you like how it looks in the picture, buy it. I'm glad I did!!
This product needs you to fix it as soon as you start assembling it. Pieces came scratched so I have to touch them up. Some of the screws don't thread properly. I have to glue the knobs, because of this. One of the rear panels needed some trimming to set in place properly. With some help, though, I can make it a good product. It seems to be "hit or miss"
This product was a mess. The doors they sent were both for the same side thus when put on the product they don't match up at all. Poorer quality overall than I expected. More like something I would buy from the $14.95 catalog.
looks good, functions well, came in a timely manner though tedious to assemble
The predrilled holes did not line up. Assembly was extremely difficult. Directions unclear.
The paint on it scratches very easily. After months of use there are deep scratches where the baskets slid in and out. It looks very nice and is very sturdy. Baskets are of good quality. Glad I bought it, but I wouldn't recommend it.
very difficult to put together. had to drill new holes to make it come together. My brother who builds furniture had to help
This product is very cute once put together. I was surprised at how many pieces there were and it took a co-worker and I (two ladies) an hour to put together, but wasn't hard. We have received rave reviews on how cute it is. Works well with what we needed, which is for storing products in the women's powder room at work.
I must have missed the part that says "assembly required", but that's okay since I've put lots of things together in the past. I only gave one star for workmanship because there wasn't a no-star option. The workmanship was all me!! The back piece of *cardboard* is in three sections. You really have to think to figure out how the 3 fit together with no instruction on how the edges are supposed to fit together. The back uses screws to hold it on. LOTS OF SCREWS. And unless you put the rest of it together perfecly the screw holes don't line up right and you end up screwing through the side of the wood instead of the middle. I screwed in one of the locking gizmos and it almost went through the other side of the wood and left a visible bump. Set aside at least 2 hours to put this together. I've put lots of furniture together, but this was a nightmare. You also have to assemble the baskets, which you have to force the steel frame to get the holes lined up. This is something I would expect to cost under $100. I thought it was funny that one of these reviewers said that the shipping was the cause of the paint wearing off. It's supposed to be that way because it's distressed -- and I was too putting it together!!
WHILE I WAS OVERALL PLEASED WITH THE PURCHASE, I FOUND IT CAME WITH SEVERAL SCRAPS ON THE SURFACE. I BOUGHT A WOOD FINISH STAIN MARKER WHICH FIXED THAT PROBLEM. OVERALL A GOOD FIND
The product arrived in a timely manner. The condition of the product however, was abismal. The manner in which it is packed for shipping, abraided the finish in neumerous places completely through the paint. Obviously, my overall rating would have been entirely different had the finish been intact.
After shopping around for a couple months for a small kitchen cabinet/buffet/sideboard, this was the best value. I was expecting something flimsy, but it's really a heavy, solid little cabinet. The directions were pretty bad, but if you've put together furniture before, assembly is relatively simple. Shipping was really fast too.
This item is ok it works well enough for what I plan to use it for. The directions are the worst!! I put the entire item together only to find out that it was backwards, and the directions were backwards, the pictures are WRONG!! It is very frustrating to put this together in fact throw away the directions and figure it out yourself you will be better off.
I love this little sideboard. It's big enough to put a 20 inch flat screen on, but is rather narrow. The wicker boxes were a little time consuming to put together but I am very very satisfied with this purchase. For the price and size I was nervous, but it really is a well crafted, good looking piece. The packaging was so torn up I was worried the pieces inside would be damanged but were not.
I was very disapointed in this item! The item was scratched and dented. Yes, it is supposed to be "destressed" but this does not mean you are supposed to see pure white gashes in the front of the cabinet. A large piece of the particale board chipped off when I was putting on the door handles. It is wobbly, and the doors do not close properly. There is a 1/4 inch gap inbetween the two doors. At over $100 this is a piece of junk. Normally I am a huge fan of overstock. However this sideboard is below par.
I had a small niche in my kitchen and needed some extra storage. This is the perfect piece for that purpose. It is not large, so make sure you look at the dimensions before buying. The wicker baskets are perfect for snacks or linens. A small appliance or microwave fits nhicely on top. The finish is a distresses black. This would also go nice in a bathroom.
