Story Behind the Art
With a proud history of more than 254 years making unique and one-of-a-kind treasures, our workshop has made items for all of the Royal Courts of the Russian Tsars and Tsarinas. The workshop helps to provide hundreds of jobs in the small rural community where it is located and work is very difficult to find. The workers are helping to preserve a dying art. It all starts with the Master Designer but then is produced and perfected by many small groups of workers, from the mouth blowers to the hand cutters. There can be over twenty workers involved in creating just one exquisite masterpiece of crystal. The workers at the workshop take great pride in knowing they are helping to create the heirlooms of tomorrow, today.
