I understand that making a bed of this type for this price has certain restrictions buuuuuuuuut... The very first time we tried to move it began disintegrating at multiple connections. So it's stuck where it's stuck. I have no idea what it's fate will be when we move.
It is attractive enough.
The materials are a bit cheap to the eye and touch. You must be very diligent when building so as not to strip or crack the wood. I added liquid nails to anything I didn't ever want to take apart again like the drawers. The instructions or not bad until you get to the final assembly of the bed frame. It seems like they ran out of ideas or painted themselves into a corner and just added a step that says "finish". The drawers don't really fit that well and will require some adjusting. It is very stable when assembled.
Bed took ~3.5hours to build by myself.
I read the reviews before and was scared to get this bed in. People have said it is impossible to assemble.. its not. If you follow the instructions its simple. You really need two people though. My boyfriend and I assembled this bed in the time it said we would ( i think it was 105 minutes). The drawers took a little longer though. However it was not hard or impossible. Don't let the bad reviews steer you away from buying this bed. It is wonderful once you get it together, it works really well with a memory foam mattress. It took a while to get here thats the only bad thing. My mattress got here a few days after i ordered and this took like 2 weeks. Well worth it!!!
The product purchased was functional, in terms of storage but additional bolts and screws need to be put in the bags because a few werwe missing from mine so i had to substitute with store baught ones, and I do not feel I should have to. The color is good and over all it is a nice comfortable solid frame once assembled.
Read all the reviews. Bed wasn't as hard to assemble as people said it was just took a while and was tedious. Great quality I didn't have any problems with chipping or dents like some other people claim they did. Overall a great bed for an excellent price :)
Product was packaged and shipped well. Very heavy boxes, be sure to have help to move around. Assembly wasn't too difficult and instructions were clear. It took my wife and I about 3 hours to complete assembly. Drawers do not fit very well, faces are not flush / squared up when pushed in. Doesn't seem to be an assembly issue as there is only one way to put it together.
It would have been excellent but I made a mistake. The bed is for our vacation condo in Naples, FL, and I have comforter storage problem. I planned to store a couple king comforters in thos side drawers. I THOUGHT they were 18"deep and 23" wide. Well, they are only 5" deep and no large comforter fits, only some sheets and small pillows. If I had read it correctly I would have ordered a storage platfotm bed with larger drawers. A bed cannot be exchanged(large and expensive to ship it back), but overall it is well made and I could get rid off some box spring mattresses that were old.
Pressed/engineered board instead of solid wood. but still very nice to look at. Stubbed toes are to be expected as I will need to get used to the frame going all the way to ground. Overall setup was easy enough, and the frame feels quite solid once all screws are tightened. under bed storage is great, especially for the those items seldom used. i.e comforters. Beware that night stands will need to be moved farther away from the bed in order to allow opening of the drawers at the head of the bed. I used these for small comforters.
Overall nice aesthetics, medium construction quality.
Overall this bed is pretty decent for the cost. It did take a few hours to put together, but you are building an entire king size bed and drawers, what else could you expect?
My issue comes with those lock screw things...you know those circular things that have a screw head on them ...and that thing's job is to catch the end of a screw from another piece to lock the two pieces together...well one of those busted out of the wood. My guess is that the predrilled holes for one of the pieces was off because when tightening the lock screw it busted out of the side of the board. No bueno. Mind you it takes only 1.5 to 2 turns to have these things tight.
I have not called for replacement parts yet, but I will. Even though that one lock screw thing busted out, the bed is completely sturdy. Surprisingly, it is sturdier than any bed I have owned. The drawers work nice and do hold a lot of stuff, which is great.

The bedframe straight from the manufacturer does not support an attached headboard. There are not holes or hardware for attachment. You could do a floating headboard that is upholstered, if your bed is going to be up against the wall.desiann16 on Jun 3, 2014
should we use a box spring with this type of bed? or should we go with the ply wood like it is suggested below?jakenkay on Apr 15, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hi jakenkay, this is a platform bed and it does not require a box spring. The ply wood slats are enough to support you. Thanks for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 23, 2014
What is the weight limit for the king size bed? I saw one similar product that says 500 lb limit. With a traditional king mattress and two people, one that's large and tall, there's not much margin there.pjltx on Mar 27, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hi pjltx, than you for your inquiry. Unfortunately we do not weight test our items; typically this type of bed holds up to 500 pounds. We recommend exercising caution with such little leeway. We hope this helps. Thanks for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 11, 2014
What does the 18.75in height refer to? Based on the picture and the stated interior height of the drawers, that doesn't appear to be the height of the bed itself; is this the height including a specific mattress thickness?noiguanaforz on Mar 25, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello noiguanaforz, thank you for your inquiry! The 18.75 inches high is referring to the height of the bed base. This item does not come with a mattress. I hope this helps. Happy shopping!overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 6, 2014
Thank you for contacting us brownssteelers. This storage beds have slats and memory foam mattresses are recommended to be on a flat surface.
Customers who have purchased the storage bed have put a piece of plywood on the slats.

What kind of composite wood is it? is it comparable to oak in its hardness/sturdy???archaneangel on Feb 22, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The composite wood is MDF which is Medium-density fibreboard, an engineered wood product formed by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is denser than plywood. It is made up of separated fibres, but can be used as a building material similar in application to plywood. It is stronger and much more dense than normal particle board.
Also MDF is not as hard, durable or sturdy as real Oak wood, But no composite wood is, Compared to real wood.overstockcustomercare1 on Feb 24, 2012
