Bissell QuickSteamer Powerbrush Select Floor Cleaner

I was a little surprised that it was smaller than the last model we wore out but I'm much happier that it is because it maneuvers better, doesn't bang into furniture and the bottom bucket is much easier to empty of water. Also, it seems to leave the carpet less wet and walkable after use than the last model which left the carpets quite damp. The rear water bucket took me a while to unplug to fill the first time (it just needed a hard tug out ). The best new feature is that the animal hair can be washed of the bottom used bucket fully each time when dumping the water (the previous models required you to unscrew something to clean out clogged dog and cat hair). You still need to vaccuum first and the brushes are not commercial strength but if you use it alot like we do with kids and animals around, I think its just great. Have had it for a couple of weeks and used it a dozen times since then and can't find any other flaws. There are no attachments for upholstery but we never used them and lost the ones from previous models anyway so I'm good on that. Thanks overstock for another terrific buy. .

I bought this unit to clean high traffic areas and I'm amazed at the results. The unit cleans better than the unit I have rented in the past from my local hardware store. A couple of hints I found that work well with this machine: I apply the water / cleaner solution in the forward direction, then release the trigger and suck the solution back up in the backward direction. I found by using this method in retrieves up to 75% of the solution into the waste container....my carpet dried in less than 2 hours. Since I had previously cleaned the carpet with a commercial rental machine, I had left behind a significant amount of shampoo in the carpet. This shampoo acts like a magnet, attracting new dirt and grime. After doing a lot of research on the internet, I found the solution....White vinegar draws the the shampoo soap out of the carpet. In this unit I mixed 1/4 cup vinegar with very hot tap water in the reservoir. It may take several cleanings but the results were amazing.
