I've used this machine once since buying it and was pleased with the results. I have a dog who loves to relax and play on all of my area rugs, so I bought the Bissell QuickSteamer to rid my rugs of the odor that the dog leaves behind. For the size and price, this machine packs alot of punch! It maneuvers easily and does not leave the rugs soaking wet. Pet owners will appreciate that the dirty water container is easy to rinse when dumping the water - I was shocked to see how much dog hair collected in the dirty water container, even after thoroughly vaccuuming with my Dyson prior to cleaning the rugs! I didn't expect the suction that this machine is able to produce. My rugs looked and smelled so much better after one cleaning, and my mom already borrowed it from me to clean her rugs. This machine is definitely a good value for the price!

Is smaller than my last one, but this one is great!! It works good and has taken up stains that the other didn't.. I use cold water instead of hot, and it worked wonderfully!!

I bought this unit to clean high traffic areas and I'm amazed at the results. The unit cleans better than the unit I have rented in the past from my local hardware store. A couple of hints I found that work well with this machine: I apply the water / cleaner solution in the forward direction, then release the trigger and suck the solution back up in the backward direction. I found by using this method in retrieves up to 75% of the solution into the waste container....my carpet dried in less than 2 hours. Since I had previously cleaned the carpet with a commercial rental machine, I had left behind a significant amount of shampoo in the carpet. This shampoo acts like a magnet, attracting new dirt and grime. After doing a lot of research on the internet, I found the solution....White vinegar draws the the shampoo soap out of the carpet. In this unit I mixed 1/4 cup vinegar with very hot tap water in the reservoir. It may take several cleanings but the results were amazing.

I was a little surprised that it was smaller than the last model we wore out but I'm much happier that it is because it maneuvers better, doesn't bang into furniture and the bottom bucket is much easier to empty of water. Also, it seems to leave the carpet less wet and walkable after use than the last model which left the carpets quite damp. The rear water bucket took me a while to unplug to fill the first time (it just needed a hard tug out ). The best new feature is that the animal hair can be washed of the bottom used bucket fully each time when dumping the water (the previous models required you to unscrew something to clean out clogged dog and cat hair). You still need to vaccuum first and the brushes are not commercial strength but if you use it alot like we do with kids and animals around, I think its just great. Have had it for a couple of weeks and used it a dozen times since then and can't find any other flaws. There are no attachments for upholstery but we never used them and lost the ones from previous models anyway so I'm good on that. Thanks overstock for another terrific buy. .

I got my Bissell QuickSteamer last week and I used it today (April 2/09) for the first time and I was very impressed with this product. It took me awhile to make the purchase after doing some research and reading a lot of reviews on this product. I finally decided that my area rug of 4 years finally needed a good steam cleaning, and not the type you get from those store rental machines nor the expense of having someone do it for me. I'm very picky when it comes to clean, and I wanted to make sure that my rug was cleaned to my expectations. I had to empty the container 3 times, but it did the job. My area rug looks brand new. I don't think anyone should do without this product in their home....it was worth every dollar....a great buy.
