Used once so far

I have only used the cleaner once so far and it did a good job on my rugs and it dried quickly as advertised. My rugs were pretty stained and it got them pretty clean.However, It seems to me that the maker designed the tanks almost more for visual appeal rather than function. The holding tank is a strange shape and it is a challenge to empty completely. I am sure I wil get better at it after more uses. The machine is very easy to use and seems self-propelled. I am anxious to try the attachment on my stairs and furniture,.the attachment is always connected to the machine and so far hasn't gotten in the way of my using the machine.

Shame on Bissell

One star is generous!I am sorry to say that I purchased this one over the ProHeat. My mistake was only reading Overstock reviews. When you look at other website reviews, the ratings are terrible. I had thought it would be good, since it promised a 30 minute drying time. Well, I can tell why now. It does not clean carpets. It merely sprays a mist over the top of it. After using this machine today, my carpets still had stains and did not smell clean. Also, I tried it on the hardwood. It just left small puddles on the floor which had to be towel dried up. This product is very misleading. It is upsetting that a reputable company would market this piece of junk! DO NOT BUY IT! Huge waste of $! I am also upset that Overstock is selling this very poor quality item.Usually they have great products. I am going to throw mine away and get a real carpet steamer.

Just as Advertised

Contrary to another reviewer, I did not find this difficult to assemble in the least. I'm surprised they expected it fully assembled -- much harder and more expensive to ship that way. There were only a few parts that needed assembly and it went together very quickly and instructions were quite clear. It is quite light and easy to handle without being flimsy. I don't find the tank shape to be much of a hassle either (although I do find there is always a bit of minor spillage when putting on the clean water tank. Otherwise the tanks come in and out quite easily and hold their seal quite well. With our place, we did only the major traffic areas without moving everything out of the way, and it took two tanks worth. Fortunately, it used most of the solution in the second, because I hate wasting things if I don't have to. We both have allergies in our household (even our dog has them), and so finding such an affordable solution to keeping the carpets clean was important to us. Depending on the size of your place, this can pay for itself after 1-2 cleanings. And the carpets DID dry rapidly and it took out a few recent spots with some easy pre-treatment with the provided cleaners. Of course, the pretreated areas and problem areas will take longer to dry, it's not like the 1-2 days we've experienced with commercial cleanings. Great for spot cleanings when needed too. Plus no worrying about unbonded cleaners coming into your house wrecking things, or casing your place for a later robbery (yes, it's happened in our neighborhood -- unscrupulous people suck). So far, this an outstanding addition to our household cleaning arsenal -- and was actually kinda "fun" to use. Thank you Bissell for making this great product and to Overstock for having it at a great price!
