After doing tons of research before purchasing, I was relieved to find this vacuum on Overstock. It had everything that I wanted - good reviews, good price, pet-cleaning friendly, etc. The only negative comments I noted was the weight factor which for me wasn't really an issue. The first few runs of the vacuum were awesome! I loved it! After 3 months, the power button began having issues with starting the machine. I literally needed to "kick-start" my vacuum at that point to get it to run. At some points the vacuum sounded as if it were on, but the brush would not spin and/or the wind tunnel was not activated causing major clogging in the hoses. Now, close to a year later... it has fully died and can no longer be revived. Contemplating repair or a new machine altogether. I only have 3 bedrooms that are carpeted - so it was definitely not due to overuse.

This vacuum is a great value. Even though it is a little heavy, it is easy to manuever. It is very quiet for a vacuum even when the brush feature is being used. I have hard wood floors and several area rugs. This vacuum sucked up so much out of my area rugs and the brush feature left the fibers upright and looking like new. It seamlessly transitioned to my hard wood floors with a turn of the dial- I didn't even turn it off. The vacuum never lost suction and the cannister is almost full. I've never used a Dyson,but I can't imagine it working better than the Bissell. Plus emptying the cannister isso easy, and you don't even have to touch the dirt. I am so happy with this purchase- probably the only time I've ever been excited to vacuum!

I am not happy with this vacuum. The sucking power is only average. The upholstery brush does a poor job getting the pet hair off my sofa. But worst of all, the upper portion of the vac keeps coming apart from the lower portion. It looks as if the screw that holds them together is way too short and simply cannot hold to two parts together. Also, the dust tube that is part of the lower canister portion (not the hose) often gets clogged up, and we have to dig into it with a stick and drag out the clog. The cord is also not self-retracting and is simply way too long, which makes it a pain to wrap up after every use. Very clumsy vacuum, and I've decided I don't like the upright style vac. Will go with a canister style vac next time.

I wouldn't trade my machine for anything! I love it and it is soooo easy to empty!

I'm not a super cleaner but there are several times I have found myself thinking "I love this vacuum cleaner". It went together easily. The attachments are very handy and there's no yucky bags to buy or deal with. I've had it for about a year and give it a big thumbs up.

We've had this Vacuum for about a week. Early in the use of it, but it is fantastic. First time we used it, my wife had already vacuumed with our old vacuum and this thing picked up so much dirt and dust. Amazing! Here are the pros and cons: Pros - Price - much better than the Dyson; Suction - absolutely fantastic. Picks up everything; Brush - has on/off switch for the brush so you can seamlessly transition from bare floor to carpet; Width - wide base covers a large area (also a con); Cord - 30' cord allows us to vacuum the entire first floor without moving the plug; Motorized Brush - gets so much more than a basic brush; Attachments - three different brushes, extension tube (that is collapsible), crevice tool, and long hose; Filters - two separate filters, one HEPA (replace every 6 months) and one washable; Hose - long extendable hose. Was able to vacuum up to the top of the stairs using the motorized brush, extension and hose while the vacuum was at the bottom. Cons - Heavy - really heavy. Not something you will carry around easy; Width - wide base can't get into every area; Heavy - again, it is super heavy. If you have any issues, the weight of this thing could be a factor; The only reason I didn't give this thing a 5 star rating was because of the weight. It has been fantastic!

received sweeper within promised shipped date, and product was refurbished but in great shape. Cleans better then anything we ever had. Have 2 dogs that shed alot and cleans the hair up like nothing else ever did.

I am very pleased with this vacuum. I have 2 cats and my previous vacuum did nothing to gdet the cat hair up. One pass with this one and it was full. I hate to think what else my old one left behind

Would not recommend this vacuum. It arrived broken, I returned it and the replacement also arrived broken. Makes you wonder about O.com claim stating: only 2% returned and checked twice before shipping. It is also very heavy. I gave up and got my $$ back. I purchased the new model at a local store. It is much lighter and has more feautures and I paid the same amount I would have paid for the heavier older model.

The vacuum cleaner worked well at the beginning but the front roller eventually began to work intermittently. Its suction is good but it's very bulky to move around, specially when the front roller is not running.

This thing really sucks up everything. The mini-attachment for furniture and stairs is very cool, with the spinning brush that actually *cleans things* like pet hair off of your couch. Emptying the canister is a breeze, and you will be AMAZED at the amount of dirt it gets up. Even the second or third time vacuuming the same room, it's getting up more pet hair and dirt and dust than I would have imagined possible. The unit *is* very heavy, but it has such strong suction and other features that I don't care. The refurbished unit arrived looking pretty good, and wasn't hard to put together. There is one screw I still haven't figured out how to install, which lost the product one star. Other than that, it's working great so far!

This vacuum is very bulky - so it is a workout to do the stairs. I end up keeping it upstairs and have a different vacuum downstairs. I have to empty the canister each time I use it - this thing really sucks up the dirt! Which makes it worth the weight!

This model of Bissell is excellent for pet hair which is why I bought it. The vacuum looks like brand new. I was very pleased about that. The only negative I would say is that it is quite heavy. I got a side ache just by vacuuming a small living area and bedroom. Not recommended for anyone with back problems.

I did a good amount of research when looking for a new vacuum because we have been unlucky in the last two we have purchased. We have two large dogs and two cats so something that works on animal hair was incredibly important. We were looking at very expensive options (Dyson) and just wanted to make sure we were making an educated purchase. After reading TONS of reviews, this vacuum seemed like a real win. So far...it is kicking butt and taking names!!! Our house has mainly wood floors but carpet in the bedrooms and several rugs are around too. The amount of dirt that came out of our carpets the first round kind of made me sick. To think our previous vacuums had been failing us THAT bad. Again, overall, great vacuum up to this point (we have only had it about a month) especially for this price. People did make several comments about the weight of this vacuum. It is heavier but it isn't unbearable, nor does it inhibit me from moving it just like I did our other vacuums. I don't find it to be an issue.

Very happy with this product. It does a great job, Was realy surprised by how much my old cleaner was missing, even though it was less than a year old(I gave it to my son) You will not be disapointed with this product!

We have a short haired dog that sheds CONSTANTLY all year long. This vacuum picked up so much it was truly amazing. In fact, I had to set the carpet depth pretty high because the suction was so strong that it was really hard to push at first.

Solid construction, easy to assemble. However, not a lightly used vacuum appears to have been used extensively and then sent back to be refurbished most likely under warranty. Does have pretty good suction but is VERY heavy. Granted this vacuum cleaner is a lot cheaper than purchasing a new quality vacuum but it looks like I got this vacuum from a garage sale.

I would recommend this vacuum to anyone. In fact, I just told my best friend about it because I feel that she would be missing out if she did not get one of these as well. I had always thought my carpet was pretty clean, until I received my Bissell Healthy Home yesterday and gave it a once over. It picked up so much stuff that I didn't even think was there. My carpet now looks brand new, and that is a big deal with a toddler in the house a 90lb dog who tracks things in. This was definitely a great purchase.

I did not expect the item to arrive so soon! The item was in great condition exactly as described and worked very well. I put it to use immediately and it was able to pick up almost everything except for the very edge and corners about 1 cm from the wall. In some areas I had to revaccum over a couple times so not as powerful as I hoped but good enough. Plus I've always been a satisfied customer and will continue to shop on this site.
