I've been using this vacuum for a month and decided to write my review now. For those of you who are nervous about purchasing a large appliance like this vacuum online, rest easy because OVERSTOCK.COM is a great company and makes returns simple and fairly swift with returning your money and/or store credit. I bought this vacuum using store credit from another Bissell I purchased but didn't live up to my expectations. This one has met my expectations. The pros I love about it: it has VERY strong suction, the crevice tool is at least a foot long which allows you to get into those tight spaces you couldn't reach otherwise, the cord is 30ft long (I don't have to unplug it as often to work down my long hallway), I love the height adjustment on it-picks up pet hair and dirt well on my very soft and dense carpet downstairs, and finally it's very easy to empty. It has a button near the bottom of the canister to release the dirt (be warned, I suggest pushing the canister a little further down into the trash or you may have some dirt kick back but it is bagless afterall). The main CON I have with this vacuum is that it makes a "whistling sound" when it's on and continues until you turn it off. At first, I thought it was a defect and took it to a Bissell service center to get repaired, but they took it apart and examined everything on it and informed me that these new "multicyclonic" motors tend to make that high pitched sound. So, IF you have sensitive ears and don't think you can handle the "whistle" while you clean, look for something else. Another con is that this turbo brush doesn't seem as strong as my last Bissell. It still cleans up pet hair of off my couch well but the brush stops rather easily if you apply too much pressure. Other than those minor issues, I LOVE this vacuum and it was a great upgrade from my old Bissell, which didn't even carry the attachments on the vacuum which bugged me (My old one was the Bissell pro lite upright vacuum). Overall, I'm very satisfied with this vacuum and learned that as long as you keep the filters clean (which are also easy to access when you remove the canister; the prefilter just needs to be rinsed out when dirty and dried) that this machine should give you years of good use and if not, it has a 5 year warranty and I've had a great track record with Bissell customer service in the past. It is pricey but that's why I got it from Overstock- they have the best prices around. Hope this review helps!
I have recommended this product to my friends. It cleans 100% better than my other bissel. It has a much wider floor vacuum area (15 inches wide compared to 12 inches) and the hose set up is much different and a lot better. The turbo brush works better and actually takes hair away. I like that the floor brush does not spin when in the upright position and I like the fact that I can shut it off for bare floors or rugs. Does a really good job.
