In trying to find a bed to last untill a move could be completed I chose this Item. Once assembled it is very study. Been used for a month with no issues yet. The plywood slats distribut weight well. The problems were in assembly; the single diagramvinstruction sheet is useless, I had to assemble and disasemble the bed twice to get it right, (I'm very mecanically inclined) and in doing so I had to enlarge a hole with a metal file to allow a bolt to fit. I chose an innerspring pad with this bed, almost as comfortable as a traditional mattress. Won't feel bad about having guests use this futon.

The first frame arrived bent but Overstock sent a new one with no problem. Assembly is challenging since the directions are mostly pictures but I finally got it together. I also purchased the 8" mattress and found it very comfortable to sleep on. I'm satisfied with the product.

As every one else had stated, the futon came with poor instructions BUT after becoming familiar with every piece, it is fairly simple-- just match the holes. My main issue is being as stubborn as I am, i like doing things on my own so i did not ask for an extra pair of hands to help prop parts together as i screw. Therefore It required every limb off of my 5ft body to put this together and voila! it is now sitting beautifully in my living room. The mechanism works great and it is fairly easy to adjust from upright to flat. It is somewhat low to the ground, i'm not sure if most futons are like that, but i wish it had a little longer legs. Overall, good product for the price and shipped fairly quickly. Let's hope it will last a long time!

I think we should send one of these bed frames to every major engineering school in the country and see how well their senior students do with putting this together. My guess is that they would have a tough time. Obviously I had some difficulty with assembly. That said, I am impressed with how well this is constructed, as well as how well it operates.

When I received this futon frame the paint had already started to chip off in shipping. More of the paint chipped off as I was removing it from the box. The slats of wood that support the mattress are very flimsy. It doesn't seem like it could support much weight. The directions to assembly was a sheet of paper with diagrams on it. It was hard to decipher how the springs were suppose to go on. After multiply trail and errors I finally figured it out.

My futon frame is still not assembled. so far no one has figured out the very obtuse illustration as to how it goes together. I think it is well made but very disappointing that I don't have it together yet.

This met the need of futon frame which easily transitions from bed to couch. It seems to be a good value. Clearer assemby directions (which included words) would have been helpful.
