Sent this to a friend for his birthday, and he loves it and says it makes smoothies in a flash!

I misunderstood this ad and thought it was 605 power, when that was really the model number. I would have bought a more powerful blender if I had understood. I like the glass pitcher but it has no cups marked (it's metric) so I took a Sharpie and marked a tiny 1 C before I realized it wasn't what I wanted. But now that I have it and use it, I like the looks and performance, but it doesn't crush frozen fruit on the first few pulses. It always takes several tries and I end up pouring the smoothie back into the blender. Otherwise, it's sturdy and a good general blender.

What do we all want our blender to do? The answer is provide enough power to crush your ice, frozen fruits etc..... Well....this blender just simply cannot handle my frozen fruits for my morning smoothies. I use the crush or pulse button to give it more power and still I end up with frozen chunks in my smoothie. I end up having to defrost the frozen fruits a bit so the blender can handle it. Not fun.

Very heavy duty and can handle the job. Works great for my morning protein shakes and margarita's! Just looks a little old school....
