Curtains were nice but not what quality I would have been happy with long term.Read More
I bought these in the expectation they would be BLACKOUT. I bought the tan colored ones and they didn't do much at all. Not sure if a darker color would have mattered. The final curtains I bought (from another place) were the same color but actually blacked out the light, unlike these ones. Such a waste of my time and money! Bummed about this and will hesitate from now on buying curtains of this type online.Read More

The descriptions says these are black out panels and they block 99% of light. This is 100% inaccurate. The light comes right through. They are basically equivalent to sheers.Read More
as said above, plus there is one place where the stitching was off and you can see that it was undone, leaving holes in the fabric that are very visible when the light shines thruRead More
I bought 4 panels thinking that would be fine for this 110" window/door I have. Nope. I ended up ordered 4 more panels to make them look better, so hopefully once they arrive it will do the trick. The drapes themselves look nice. When I took them out of the packaging they ironed up very well. I think having the extra panels will work for me. The price was right so I'm not complaining (too much) but I don't think they are true blackout panels.Read More
Questions & Answers
Hello delicate41, The material is more matte. Thank you for your question.
To confirm, the price for this set includes two curtain panels that are each 38 inches wide x 84 inches length, correct? Thank you, Susan
Thank you for shopping Overstock.com. This item includes 1 panel that is 38 inches wide.
Could you please explain what "foamback panel" means? Also, are all colors equally able to block out the light?
Foamback is material used for panels to conserve energy (heating, air conditioning, etc.) and block out the sunlight. All the colors block out the light equally because of this foam backing.
38 inches long x 84 inches wide (91 centimeters x 213 centimeters) Those are the dimensions given by the website about these curtains. But I wondered if this was a mistake. Are they 38 inches long or are they 84 inches long? 38 inches seems very short.
We are sorry for the confusion. This item is 38 inches wide by 84 inches long.
How to Install Blackout Curtains
Blackout curtains can keep a room cool and dark even when it's bright and sunny outside. A completely dark room is a wonderful thing if you have a job that requires you to work all night or even if you just want a dark room for watching a movie when it's light outside. In addition, blackout window treatments help you conserve energy by keeping heat in and cold out or vice versa. You have two choices when it comes to installing blackout curtains: You can buy curtains that come with blackout liners already sewn in, or you can add panels of blackout fabric to the curtains you already own.
How to Hang a Valance and Curtains
Hanging a valance and curtains over your window will add dimension, texture and style to any room. Window curtains with a valance give your window treatments a finished, designer look. If you want to block out light, a valance and full-length blackout panel curtain is your best choice. If you are more interested in decoration and only need to block minimal light, then a valance over sheer curtains is a good choice. It's important to measure the window and decide what type of curtains you want before you buy the curtain hardware. A cafe rod will be sufficient to support a sheer curtain, but you will need a stronger curtain rod to support heavier fabrics such as blackout panels. Also, the larger the window, the sturdier the curtain rod will need to be.
