In short, if you are still unsure about purchasing this bed, all I can say is BUY IT! I flip-flopped around for a few weeks uncertain if I should purchase a bed from Overstock. Well, I took the plunge and finally did. I ordered on a Sunday and it arrived that Friday, talk about fast! The pieces were well packed and nothing was missing or damaged. I must admit, despite the other reviews, I found this bed very easy to assemble alone, taking me about 1 hour. But I suppose depending on your skill level, the assembly experience will probably vary. Anyway, once assembled this bed becomes a very beautiful furniture piece. Solid wood of excellent quality and a very nice rich walnut finish. I have this bed in a Japanese themed room and it fits very well. If you are a fan of simple, clean design, you will not be disappointed.

This bedframe has survived 5 moves in the past 2 years! It was made with very high quality material and construction. The wood finish is also very lovely. Don't forget to get matching night stands.

We are very impressed with the quality and looks of this bed. My 10 yr old son helped my husband and they put the bed together in less than an hour, so I am not sure why I read so many reviews about the assembling being so difficult. For the price, it is a great product. We love it.

I purchased this bed from Overstock.com over 2 years ago, and I am still loving it! The only thing is, I do not believe this bed was meant to be DIY. Get a couple friends who are truly handy to help you! Once assembled, it is beautiful, sturdy, and comfortable. It has very good support. I actually moved from one apartment to another, and the bed held up beautifully! I absolutely love it! I also got the dresser...loved it, too...but again, the assembly was a challenge. You MUST have a power drill or you'll wish you bought something else!

There are a lot of pieces. Get an empty room. The many platforms you must screw in come with no pre drilled holes, so remember to work out your biceps before assembly, but not too close to the event; you don't want to be sore. This is a two person job. Its very pretty and zen like though. I use it with a thick memory foam mattress from this same site. once toghether i couldn't be happier. its also very secure. Oh- also, tricky assembly in certain sections, you'll see.

*Note that in the ratings the only reason it got a 4star was the lack of pre-drilled holes for the supports (where the slates get screwed into). And that if you don't have a power drill look for about 30-45min of your time just screwing in the screws for the slates. I must say that this bed is a steal. Nice color, and holds up. No noise creaks at all. Now my only issues were that the notches for the allen wrenches are a bit snug on the head board ( where it gives you room for the allen wrench to fit to screw in to the legs) and you have to screw them in with the longer point of the wrench. Also like previous reviews stated, power drill is a must, the slates for the supports I would have to say take the longest without one (My hands are sore from the manual phillips screwdriver :/ ). Thanks overstock for this great bed frame!! Looks great with the 10" memory foam mattress I purchased from here!

Like others, I was a little hesitant to buy furniture on-line since you really can't tell much about the product from the picture. Luckily, I read up on the reviews and went ahead and made the purchase. The bed arrived within 5 days and assembling it was accomplished in short order. It helps to have power tools to make the job go faster. I highly recommend this bed to anyone shopping around. The workmanship is amazing and it is truly solid.

Very sturdy, didn't even need to use the super glue they supplied. It took me about 3 hours to assemble this bed by myself (I'm a petite female). That's because I didn't have any powered tools. Over all I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I think my friend is about to buy one too...

I purchased this bed, while the bed is wonderful, the delivery was delayed ...... however a partial refund came via OVERSTOCK, I ordered the memory mattress too, a great fit with bed. Very Happy with this purchase. My nephew assembled it in about 1.5 hours.

I received this bed about a week after I ordered it. Came in 3 boxes and all pieces were in great shape, none were dented or scratched. It only took me about an hour to put this bed completely together by myself. Some of the allen screws can be a pain to tighten. I read other reviews where people said they could only tighten the screw a quarter of a turn each time. But you'll receive an allen wrench that has what looks like a ball on the end of it. If you use that side of the allen wrench for the tight spots you can angle it and still tighten the allen screw completely down without rounding the screw head. The bed looks great and is a great bed for the price.

Bed went together easily, however my crew had trained on a previous OS bed purchase. Purchasing a power screwdriver as recommended by a previous reviewer was a plus. Looks great, I bought a 10" memory foam mattress (Also OS). Painted the walls a deep fern green, the cherry headboard is quite stunning against it.

I wanted a platform bed that was made of wood, not the cheap looking veneer that most seem to be made of. I was willing to pay a little more for a wood bed, so when I found this one, I was thrilled. Assembly was fairly easy and took a little under an hour with two people. The bed is attractive, stylish, and sturdy. I am very pleased with my purchase and would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone else!

I ordered this for my 12 year old daughter's first "big girl" bedroom and the rest of her sisters are insanely jealous. It is a piece that will last her for years to come and is simply beautiful. solid and well constructed. One area of the footboard was damaged in shipment with a dime-sized gouge in the wood on the outside where it shows. Overstock customer service had a replacement footboard shipped within 24 hours of my email and could not have been any better to work with unless they carried the piece to me on piggy back and installed it. I wish everything I ever needed to buy was on Overstock. Wonderful company, customer service and quality of products.

I was swayed by all of the great reviews and bought this bed late last year. Firstly, it was extremely difficult to assemble, and I'm no slouch (turns out that the holes were improperly drilled - read on to see how I know this). About a month later, with regular use by an average-weight woman, I checked underneath and saw the supporting legs in the middle were tilted despite having been correctly adjusted. Meaning that the metal piece connecting them to the bed was coming out. Overstock kindly sent the necessary replacement parts. Assembling this one was a bit easier... it turned out that the first one had improperly drilled holes. When I went to reassemble the sections, I noticed that the screws - which had been tightly turned - were loose. I tightened everything and replaced the broken supporting legs. Two months later, I checked, and sure enough, the supporting legs are again broken. We're all inclined to review the product in the euphoria of having built it. I would have given it four stars then (removing one for the bad holes) - in fact, maybe I did in an earlier review. Now, it's a 2. A real shame, because the bed itself is beautiful. But it needs to last more than a few months of gentle use!!

This bed took less time than I expected to assemble. The construction is sold, the wood is high quality, the frame is very sturdy and the style fits my decor perfectly. I assembled the bed in about an hour by myself so it might go quicker with additional hands. I highly recommend this product.

Delivery was fast and free. The assembly was a little frustrating. As with many other Overstock purchases I was cursing myself for buying unassembled until the piece was together and then the end result made it worth while. The quality is good and the wood is nice. The bed is sturdy and well constructed.

Let me say that while bed looks great and the materials are just as good, then installation is tricky. Instructions are well, but the bolts that keep the frame together is difficult to tighten. I'm usually really quick on this, but this part of the installation slowed my down as the space given to screw it on, and the L shaped hex screw-driver was a nightmare! But once you get thru this, the rest is a cinch. Only 1 person and a power drill (for quicker installation) is necessary.

I was worried this bed will be lighter, but it was exactly as pictured. The design is beautiful. Assembly was relatively easy. Electric screwdriver would have helped and some parts that need to be glued seemed too loose even to be held together by glue, but instructions were easy to follow and get right. It feels great and looks fantastic. Great buy.

Delivery was very fast. Bed looks beautiful and is very sturdy. The assembly was a little workout because I don't have electical screw driver...other than that very happy with looks, quality and service.
