Beech-finished Computer Cart

I saw this cart and liked the design, not too wide and enough shelf space to cover minimal computer needs. Cart got delivered ok. Started taking out metal parts and noticed everything was extremely thin wall and light. Wood laminate looks great, but not great job, It assembled ok, directions weren't bad. Pros - nice compact design, doesn't take up space, enough room for computer, monitor,speakers, small printer. All parts labeled and directions were straight forward (except the key board slide) Cons - The materials used are extremely cheap, including the hardware. it's not going to be durable if you are thinking about putting heavy components on. keyboard slide mechanism not the smoothest. Also the edges of the keyboard slides are extremely sharp. I was thinking of my kids using it and cutting themselves badly. All it takes is your hand to swing up or down once and you got a nasty gash if you are not careful. I took a file and filed it down, but it didn't seem to do the job. I wound up tapeing the edges with polyethylene foam and tape. I would buy only if you like the design, otherwise I've gotten cheaper computer carts from your local national chain business supplier that are made with much more sturdier materials and better hardware.
