read other reviews. Seems some confusion about parts quality, wood quality and instruction quality. I am an experienced handyman. I glanced at the instructions 3 or 4 times during assembly to make sure all the parts were there and that the assembly order I took did not get me into a bind. Assemble the headboards/footboards and rails barely hand tight. Throw away the provided screws and use 1.25 inch coated deck screws. Lay the slats across loosely assembled rails. Counter sink all the slats such that the screw heads will be about 1/16th inch below the slat top. Line each slat up with its hole in the rail and Screw down the 4 screws at the rail ends. I used an impact wrench (very fast, but can over tighten). Align the rails with the footboards for even reveal on all sides and tighten down. Assemble centerboard and legs. I fell in love with this bed as soon as i saw it! The only thing i did was i purchased another matress support frame and used that instead of the wooden planks. It was a nice white that matched my room perfectly. Assembly was not difficult at all!

Awesome bed!! The color is fantastic. Warm grey. It's heavy and substantial. Expensive look and feel. Use a power drill like previous posts say. Need a second person when attaching the headboard and footboard to the side rails. Otherwise one person can assemble parts to that point. Just read instructions carefully first. The men in our family love this bed. They say it feels like a resort. I agree. Don't need a box spring. Using one would make the mattress block the look of the style. We gave away the box spring. Like not needing a bed skirt. High enough to store things under the bed. We have guitar cases and an old good looking suitcase under the bed. Highly recommend.
