Beds

Your bed is one of the most important pieces of furniture in your home. Not only does it provide support for your mattress; it acts as the focal point of your bedroom. Here are a few things to consider when choosing a bed.
The first thing to consider is size. Queen-size beds are a popular choice for many bedrooms, but it's important to measure your bedroom to ensure your bed works well in your space. Especially tall people might feel most comfortable in a king-size bed, while a full-size bed would be large enough for petite individuals.
While the primary purpose of a bed frame is to provide support for the mattress and lift the bed from the floor, style is also an important consideration. Bed frames run the style gamut from eye-catching and contemporary to elegant and traditional. Some bed frames are very utilitarian, made only to support you and the mattress, while other frames, like a traditional sleigh bed, can be very ornate, with lavish carvings on the headboard and footboard. Upholstered beds add a luxurious touch to your bedroom; try a leather bed for a sophisticated feel or a tufted linen bed for something a bit more modern.
For some, a bed should also be multifunctional and versatile. Platform beds with extra storage space below the mattress offer easy storage solutions for small spaces. For kids' beds, an adjustable frame that transitions from a toddler bed to a twin-size bed may be a practical and economical choice. Bunk beds, loft beds, and trundle beds also allow you to create a fun and functional space for your children.

It's a great bed, very comfy. When putting it together It took me a while to put in all the slats, it required some physical exertion, but I did it all by myself nevertheless.

The bed looks much nicer than expected. I was able to assemble it myself, although it took a little over an hour and certainly would have been easier to assemble with an extra set of hands. It seems just a bit wobbly; hopefully tightening the screws occasionally will help. The color is darker/closer to black than I expected from the description, but it is very nice.

    Beautiful but substandard support frame.

This bed is simply beautiful, which is why despite it's cheap, thin aluminum frame that broke within two months I decided to keep the bed rather than go through the laborious return process. A lot of buyers were thrilled with this bed but a lot us have run into issues. The frame is approximately 3 inches too wide for any queen bed so the box spring slides around on the frame and makes the use of a bedskirt impossible. Because of the error in size the head board and foot board will not work with a regular bed frame (that goes under the box spring) so you are forced to use the frame that comes with it. While the head and foot boards are made out of a beautiful hammered steel or iron, the support frame is made of a thin cheap aluminum that has four center support poles held together with one screw for each pole. The bed posts slide on hardwood very easily but the center poles do not. So as your bed is sliding across your floor as you get in and out of it the center poles are not...
