i was expecting for this price a real platform bed. instead I received a vinyl covering with elastic sides to put around a box spring I do not own and to boot, two 2.00 pieces of wood with 3.00 plastic weak 2" legs are to be screwed onto a box spring you already own. The materials, had I wanted a pretend non-wood platform bed, would cost me at a fabric store and***a whopping *** and that is being generous. I was expecting a real bed not a fabric box spring covering for ***! To boot it was on backorder and didn't come for a while!

I was worried that this may look cheap since it was vinyl but this bed is anything but cheap looking. It really is a stunning piece of furniture that has transformed my room. The color is white and it has a slight sheen/shimmer to it but it is very subtle. The base of the bed does extend out past the mattress so that is something to consider if you have a smaller room. We did not use the slats provided, we had a metal frame that fit perfectly inside the bed base that we have been using , so I can not speak as to how durable the slats would have been. Overall very satisfied with this purchase.

I am thrilled with this mattress. Since it was placed on tile, I had a quilt under it in case debris on the floor may impale it and laid a light blanket on top since air inside any mattress is cold and the restful sleep I experienced these last 2 nights have been even better than the REAL pillow top mattress which costs nearly $1,000 MORE!! I love the smell of new vinyl, so that was also a big plus. The motor to give it a fill now and then is soooooo quiet. It filled up in less than 3 minutes and I chose the PLUSH setting from Firm or Medium. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! And with the 2 year warranty, I know I have the best for my rest for under $180! I'll keep it filled while I am away for 2 weeks and see how much air is lost, which it will since that is what air does and see how swift it will take to kick it back to Plush for me. I can't wait to use it again when I visit my second home again!

Vinyl is so thin, you have to be so careful putting the box spring and mattress on. I dammaged the foot board vinyl ,but repaired it with black duct tape and it looks okay. It sits very low to the floor ,and wanted it easier for guests to get on and off of the bed, so I used the box spring. I mainly wanted this platform so that I don't need to hide legs of a frame with a bedskirt. All in all this met my needs for our guestroom.

I've been looking for a contemporary bed like this one for months. Having looked at this bed several times, I finally pulled the trigger during this site's President's Day sale. When the bed arrived I unwrapped it and was excited by what I saw! I aired it out for a day because vinyl can have an odor but that's typical for this material. Yes, the slats are small so I went to Home Depot and had 3 1x6 slats cut for $10. The mattress and box spring sits in there perfectly, and the white bed is a perfect complement to the bluish gray and taupe colors on the wall. My bedroom now looks like a high class hotel spa retreat. I am beyond satisfied! I love my new bedroom! Thanks Overstock!

a very nice basic mattress for a toddler, with moisture protection for those overnight accidents

This bed is by far the best online furniture/house decor purchase I've ever made, and I've been obsessively shopping major retailers trying to outfit a new home. Not only is the quality unbeatable for the price, but assembly was quick & easy. (My husband is less than handy and he had it up in an hour ;). The vinyl looks like leather and cleans easily, and the frame/headboard are sturdy & feel like they're built to last. Only side note is you can see the slats under the mattress, but as soon as you make it and tuck in the sheets & comforter the bed looks seamless. Such a great buy!!

We've been sleeping on this mattress for a couple of weeks now. We upgraded from a coil style with a built-in pillow top. The mattress arrived in about a week packaged like a large tootsie roll. it was sealed in plastic and I wasn't concerned about the rain or snow getting in and damaging it. We opened it up the day before we planned to use it. Instead of slowly expanding, it sort of popped right open into it's nearly fully-expanded state. We probably could have slept on it that night after only a few hours, but we had a new frame to purchase and put together. There was a noticeable odor when it was unwrapped. My wife compared it to a "new car smell." It's not strong like a vinyl shower curtain, but it's there. After 24 hours I could still smell it when I got close. After a week I could smell it when I put my nose to it and when I fluffed the covers. Now, after two weeks, I don't smell it anymore (or maybe I just got used to it?). I know that for some people off-gassing is a concern, and it was for us. That said, this is a very comfortable mattress. My wife and I are sleeping more soundly and I notice fewer aches and pains when I get up in the morning. It's firm, but after a minute it starts to conform to our bodies and I don't even feel it anymore. My wife says it holds heat more than the old spring mattress and I have to agree. We swapped out our down comforter for a cotton quilt and that solved the problem. We also purchased a cotton mattress protector and put that on, even though it comes with one already on it- I think the original one is poly. So, long story short- at this price we have a very comfortable mattress that was shipped quickly, packaged well and, so far, has provided a much more restful sleep than our old coil mattress. We were nervous about buying a mattress without lying on it first, but we're glad we took a chance on this one.

My bed arrived in Miami from Oakland, CA within less than two weeks. I was concerned that it would arrive with some damages, however, it was in near perfect condition. It was easy to assemble and looks beautiful. The platform slats are poor quality wood, and require a cover, or else they will ruin your mattress (unless you want to ruin your box spring instead, which is not needed). Unfortunatley, I had not done any research regarding vinyl products until the day after I assembled the bed, due to an overwhelming chemical scent that permeated everything in the room. Vinyl is a product that outgasses/offgasses. What is Offgassing? Offgassing is the evaporation of volatile chemicals in non-metallic materials at normal atmospheric pressure. This means that certain materials (vinyl) release chemicals into the air through evaporation. This evaporation can continue for years after the products are initially installed which means you continue to breathe these chemicals as you work, sleep and relax in your home or office. After two days, I had to disassemble the bed and physically remove it from my apartment to "air out" for over a week. The bed still has an awful odor, however, it seems to have dissipated a bit. Most unfortunately, is that the chemical gas odor has absorbed into my new memory foam mattress, as well as, all of the other fabrics in my room. My mattress is basically ruined. This bed looks great, isnít the best quality, but is a good price. Be warned and air it out for a long time outside before bringing it into your home, otherwise, it will cost you a lot more when you have to replace your mattress and other furnishings.

Others have commented about the bed being a bit smaller than queen mattresses. We didn't find the size to be extremely different and we actually like that there's room to tuck in the comforter and sheets. Others have commented that the slats broke easily. Before putting the mattress on the bed, we purchased some 3/4" plywood and put that down over the slats, then the mattress on top of that and we've experienced no problems. The white vinyl "leatherette" looks good and looks close enough to leather to fool the eye.

This is a lovely bed frame. The stitching is perfect, easily wiped clean of fingerprints. The headboard vinyl goes all the way down to meet a low-profile box spring. There is a 2-inch gap at the foot of a queen mattress if you push it snug against the headboard but is not noticeable when the bed is made up. Sturdy & stable enough for sleeping but would not recommend for horseplay. Arrived in 3 boxes 9 days after order, well-packaged & undamaged.

Everything about this nightstand was a lot better than I expected. Delivery, arrived 2 days early and was double boxed with extra popcorn and air bubble packaging to protect the nightstand. Upon opening I was very surprised that the nightstand was completely assembled, even the legs. The quality was very high made of solid work with vinyl covering which is very leather like. I will purchase another.

This bed is nice, but it isn't white. It is definitely cream/off-white. If you are looking for true white (which I was), this is not for you. It is not very high off the ground, but a full sized box spring/foundation should help get a little height. If you want a normal height bed (around knee to hip height), you want to choose something higher off the ground. Risers won't work because there are wooden planks and they need several foot supports underneath in order to remain stable. The headboard material has a bit of a sheen to it (which I like), but it's not too plastic/vinyl looking for me. It looks nice in my space and I have a comfy mattress so I'm enjoying it.

The frame is pretty eye-appealing. The pros: Pretty easy to put together, for even one person (i consider myself a little handy). All the tools you need are included. The vinyl is soft to the touch - easy on the shins and ankles in tight spaces. Low enough to sit on comfortably (with mattress), high enough to store a lot underneath (4-folding chairs, 4 pillows, the old platform frame and slats, some duffel bags, folded cardboard boxes, ets.) - if you're looking for something like that. The cons: Frame is pretty cheap, the legs are plastic, the wood slats and their plastic attachments seem a bit flimsy, but no problem with sag... so far. Frame is bigger than our Sterns & Foster queen-size mattress, by about 4 inches in length and two inches in width... don't know why.

I was hesitant about getting this. I was pleasantly surprised. It looks even way nicer in person. What is the chance of that happening? It is not too big which I was afraid of since I have a platform bed. It fits in with just about every style you can think of. It is so sturdy and is of great quality much like that of high end furniture. Do not hesitate. It does not have cheap laminate on it and does not scratch easy. This is my best online purchase in a long time. I only bought one, but may buy another in case I move to a bigger place. GREAT TIP: Before sliding the bottom of the drawer panel in, I lined it with a sticky designer vinyl drawer liner. It looks finished and not like an after thought, because the cut sides of the drawer liner doesn't show when you slide it in. It makes me smile every time I open the drawer.

The automatic inflate and deflate are fantastic features. We like that you can set the mattress for a bit softer or firmer and it adjusts automatically. It fits well in the carrying bag, with room for the sheet set and pillowcases I use for the mattress. The vinyl is thick enough that I don't worry about it easily tearing or even developing a leak on a fold point. We have used it at least every two weeks, for multiple nights, over the past few months and not one problem.

I bought this mattress for my soon to be 4 yo son getting his "big boy" bed (from a toddler bed). So to put that in complete context: I can be a bit obsessive when it comes to major purchases for my children... I had ordered a twin size "captain's" bed for him already - the exact same one his 8 yo brother has (from Gothic Cabinet Craft - repeat purchase no brainer), but when it came time to pick the mattress I couldn't figure out what to do. Last time we'd gotten the highest quality (traditional spring) twin mattress carried by our local Costco (which purchase was the product of a lot of research time and effort and was definitely the right choice) -- not cheap by any means but at least I had the comfort of feeling like I was getting value for my money (or that if for some reason I ended up not feeling that way then I could return it and get something else). But this time Costco didn't have any twin mattresses without box springs and because my son's bed is a platform bed, we only needed the mattress. So I poked around online for a few days and then went into the local Sleepy's. I left Sleepy's feeling some strange combination of confused, patronized, swindled (though I hadn't purchased anything), and dirty. $300 "entry-level" seemed unpersuasive. And $800 seemed nuts. Despite reasonable background knowledge I didn't understand what he said about the coils and foam and what another $500 was buying and had basically had it with that aspect of the process. I wanted the absolute best of whatever he actually needed, without paying for anything ridiculous. So I went home and called my friend and asked her what her children sleep on. She said it didn't matter, because her fiance had the absolutely perfect mattress and she would definitely buy it for her own kids and that's what I should get. And he got it on Overstock. On what? Overstock. Come on, that's for wallets and coat trees. No, really. Hmmm... Her fiance conducts can be described as only very slight short of full-fledged investigations into major product purchases. And he brings a lot of intelligence to the table. So fine, send me the link. Well the mattress is awesome. First of all it comes rolled up, very substantially compressed, in a fat tube. This packaging makes it possible to move without 2 or 3 irritated people. I (a mere girl) slid it across a house and up a flight of stairs by myself. It isn't light, but it's doable. Nervous about putting my sweet flower on something that could (according to some reviews) emit offending odors for weeks, I dutifully unrolled it in a spare room, cracked the skylight, stayed for a little while watching the mattress seemingly inflate, sniffed around for offending odors, smelled none, and left. And it's a good thing I tightly closed the door. Because my cat can smell a new snuggy spot from two floors away. She once, through enthusiastic nesting, ruined a partially hidden new sweater faster than I could shower. And the mattress would have been toast. Because mere hours from when I'd left it I came back to find a full-size, extremely comfortable, nice looking, odor-free mattress. In fact since I'd thought it needed days to air out, there were a few days of my husband closing the skylight (apparently because there was no smell) and me opening it (because who knew when those things would escape their mattress confines?). And my son loves his new bed, mattress definitely included. I'd think it was too firm for me (we sleep on Kingsdown, bought 9 years ago from that spooky Sleepy's), but it's hard to tell because his mattress is completely enclosed in a (very thin, but still) vinyl case (covered by an intentionally relatively thin, 100% cotton "mattress protector," in turn covered by a high quality, 100% cotton sheet) . (I by the way think it's crazy to buy more than a camping mat for a child without a vinyl mattress case -- last week my 8 yo got sick and that would have been it for his mattress but for the case. Most children going to a twin or larger bed for the first time are coming from a crib or toddler bed in which they've almost certainly already been sleeping on vinyl as some layer.) But anyway, it's hard to tell for sure if it would be too firm for me. It's perfect for him. (And when his babysitter sat on it she said, "Is this Posteurpedic? I'm jealous.") So, I would definitely recommend this for a child and for an adult who is OK with a little firm-ness or lack thereof in one direction or the other (or is at least familiar which memory foam beds, which I wasn't). The only negative thing I could say, if looking for one, is that it may be 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch shorter than a "regular" mattress might be. Regardless, it's an excellent value. Really excellent.

Husband and I bought this bed after being unable to move our boxspring into our upstairs bedroom. We wanted a bed with enough style to last ~8 yrs, unassembled so we could get it up our narrow 1907 staircase, and to be delivered quickly. This did the job! We will shop overstock.com for our next bedroom furniture purchase. - fast, fast service. It arrived 3 business days after placing the order. - all pieces (3 boxes) arrived in perfect quality. Never got a call to arrange delivery, but it came after 5:30pm, so someone was home. - assembly took ~an hour (& my husband's handy); nothing missing or broken & everything fit. (I hope it disassembles well someday.) - wood slats offer great support, but I noticed they were kind of arched upwards once installed. Some parts of the bed feel more firm than others, but this may be due to my old mattress. - the white vinyl is sorta shiny, but that's the "mod" look, I guess. The vinyl quality is as good as faux white leather gets. I'm very cautious about scratching it with my ring when I make the bed, and I wonder how I'll clean it if I get ink or wine on it (yes, wine in bed, why not). - low profile is just high enough to slide a mop under the bed.

Was really happy to receive this.. looks and feels great, doesn't have any weird vinyl odor because it's made of leather. Well designed-extremely sturdy and appears durable. Compares favorably to beds I've seen in stores costing twice as much.

1. SIZE: This bed should be promoted as a California King, not a king. Cal King bedding will fit perfectly, and I was pleased to get this size bed. The height is same as a real bed. 2. PUMP is as loud as a vacuum cleaner, and has an underlying high pitched screech. Sounds like it won't last long. 3. COMFORT: If it would stay inflated, it would be very comfortable. The materials seem durable. 4. INSTRUCTIONS: Instructions are minimal and not entirely clear. The "Inflate" and "Close" positions appear to be the same spot. The pump control and the manual deflate valve are at opposite ends of the unit, and the latter is not shown in the illustrations. 5. THE HOLE: The one I received has an open cylindrical depression 2-1/4" in diameter, 3" deep in the vinyl wall to the left of the pump control. It is not shown in the instructions and does not appear in the on-line photos. Its purpose is a mystery. 6. NOISE: When you get up, the air displaced by your weight returns to its original space, and the vinyl walls creak with the adjustment. MY EXPERIENCE: This bed was purchased for temporary use during a remodeling project. I inflated and deflated it once before intlating it for use. The first two nights it lost considerable firmness, and had to be pumped up morning and evening. I was considering returning it, but the third night it held up much better. Possibly the vinyl needed to stretch, like a new pair of shoes. After a few good nights, it has started to collapse again, worse than before. I awoke in a pit, and am done with this bed. My cheap old non-raised twin air bed is more comfortable and reliable. The Airtek king was a waste of money.
