My husband and I went to a local mattress store and tried this mattress on their sales floor. It had a different name, but was the world class line, a luxury firm, had the same coil counts, foam types and amounts. I could not see paying as much as they wanted and they didn't want to lower the price any, the salesman said, "it's really about whether the comfort and sleep is worth it to you". I came home and found the same mattress set on overstock for $XXX less than they wanted and got a %XX off coupon too. This mattress is wonderful, it is firm yet soft. It supports our backs but when we sleep on our sides it doesn't make our arms fall sleep or ache. I was concerned that this was just too much to spend on a mattress, especially considering they only last 7-10 yrs, but this set it definitely worth it.
This is a beautiful bed, but it is what I consider (and my daughter who tried it out) feel is VERY FIRM. It has zero bounce to it. I tried jumping on it like a kid - nothing. I made an extra purchase of a pillowtop mattress pad to try to help, but didn't do much. Next would be a foam topper, but I hate to spend more $. Also, with an average bedframe under it, this bed is high off the floor - I almost have to do a little hop to get into it. Aprox 29/30 inches off the floor with the frame. I am 5'4" 132 lbs. It took so long to receive (3 weeks) and then really it wasn't until the 2nd / 3rd night I started to think, this bed is hard! But I will keep it....too much of a pain to even begin to think about how to return it. If you want a super firm (aka HARD) bed, this is the bed for you.
The Mattress I am overall happy with. I wanted to get a firm mattress particularly for my back problems that I have been experiencing with an outdated plush model beautyrest. I ordered this and the Reynaldo luxury firm. This mattress is definitely firm with a very small amount of soft cushion on top. The good news is as soon as you lay on it you immediately feel spinal chord release... Bad news is I would love like something just one notch more comfortable. This bed with the pillow top would of been perfect for me. As for the Reynaldo luxury firm that one was a bit too squishy for me for a luxury firm model... so in short I would say if you like a softer medium firm bed go with the Reynaldo... If you want super firm go with this bed. If you want something in between them both I would suggest this bed in a pillow top version. As for the mattress itself what i found interesting is it looks like they do sorta a slap dash job of putting mattresses together and Simmons... my mattress straps were angled and not even strait on one side and strait on the other side... found it really odd and that alone made me question their processes they use to put these mattresses together... overall it feel like this mattress could last a long time i don't foresee any sagging or large body spots in the near future due to how firm it is. I know that was one jumbled mess of a review but I wanted to help people save time and money and give them as much info as I had learned. ... :) Hope it helps.
