Even after shopping locally to be sure we made the best choice, buying this pillow top plush mattress by Beautyrest appears to be a loss of over **. Two nights and hips and back are so sore - like I've been pushed into the floor all night. My husband and I have tossed and turned two nights now hoping it gets better. There is no way that there are multiple comfort layers of any soft material inside this mattress, unless it's layers of sedimentary rock. Plush should not be taken to mean velvet-like or soft. I shopped the mattress stores to see what I wanted. Then I purchased the mattress from Overstock.com because of the savings in the purchase price. I was a little concerned about the delivery process for such a large item; but, I need not have worried. The delivery process was better than I had ever experienced. They were in constant contact me with my choice of dates and times. The delivery men called me that morning to make sure I did not waste time waiting for them. They called me during the day to give me an exact time of their arrival. They took the old mattress away and delivered the new set. They were very courteous and made sure that they left no mess. Great product and great delivery job.
The reason I choosed this pillow top was for the air-cool feature over choosing a memory foam mattress. Memory foam beds are very comfortable in my opinion, but it retains to much body heat. Also you get sunk into the bed overtime, when stationary. -The "air-cool" feature on this Beautyrest Pillowtop mattress was suppose to prevent that from happening. Apparently I must of got a defective mattress. My mattress set not only does it get FIRM really quick, but I also got 2 twin-size box springs instead of 1 king-sized box spring to fit under my King-size mattress, that I ordered from Overstock.com. I inspected the whole mattress and the manufacture's tag has the same model number with the model number ordered but my mattress does not have the "Air-cool" emblem stitched onto it. So, does that mean my mattress doesn't have this feature? Is that why my mattress gets FIRM very quickly because I sink into it overtime and hit a very firm layer, results with backaches. Does that mean this mattress is "defective" and that's how Overstock sells their goods? **** I noticed all that when I unpacked the contents. A missing emblem doesn't matter to me, as long as it has the feature. I believed that if I allowed the bed to sit with nothing on top on it, it'll reach to it's full potential of comfortness. I had it like this for about 2 days and after I tested it, I wasn't very pleased with the softness. In the beginning it was bareable for a person who weighs 150 pounds at 5' 9". I'm not the type who complains easily so I thought I give it like 2 or 3 months to make a conclusion. It seems that I received a defective because I sink and hit a rough layer when I lay on it for 2-3 hours. I wake up with backaches because it feels like I'm sleeping a FIRM bed. To avoid that feeling, I have to wake up every 2-3 hours and relocate. If I don't, I get backaches. This is not the way anybody should be sleeping if they paid for a comfortable bed. A Body needs at least 6-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep to fully be "well-rested." This is not comfortable if you're laying on it for more than 2 hours on the same spot. If my mattress is not a defective then I'll have to say to everybody: IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR PLUSH THAT'LL LAST THEN, THIS IS NOT THE MATTRESS YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. THIS MATTRESS WILL GO "FIRM" ON YOU, IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I'll make it my interest to not buy from Overstock.com again because of the quality of my order did not go par with the quality I expected from the description.
I spent a lot of time looking for a new mattress. Read all material on the mattress I bought and even went to a mattress store and tried the mattress out by laying on it. The mattress was delivered and I slept on it for 1 month and my back hurt. The edge of the bed was softer than the middle of the bed. Called Overstock and they did replaced the mattress. I have been sleeping on the replacement mattress since May and it has the same problem, no support around the outside of the mattress. I now have lower back pain and sciatica per my doctor. I am a side sleeper and this mattress is way to soft for a slide sleeper. The mattress is already sunk in on the side I sleep on. The delivery was great and Overstock did have the mattress company replace it but it is still not a good mattress. I now have to spend more money to buy a new mattress when the one I have is only 4 months old.
If you are looking for a Plush Mattress, do not purchase the Beautyrest Recharge 'Maddyn' Plush Pillow Top Mattress Set. I have been sleeping on this mattress for ~30 days and I wish I could get a refund because I feel like I was duped. This is NOT a plush mattress - it is definitely firm.
The mattress is a little softer than I am used to, and that took some getting used to. My old mattress was very firm, but I have really grown to like this softer mattress. The memory foam too was something to get used to. When you change your position, the old "indentation" takes some time to go away. A few weeks into the new mattress, I have adapted and it doesn't bother me anymore. More importantly, the mattress is VERY comfortable. Going to bed each night is a pleasure and I don't want to get out of bed most mornings.
