We love our Simmons Beautyrest. We call it "The Cloud" because it is like sleeping on one. We had tested a bunch of different mattresses decided on Simmons Beautyrest and then ordered through Overstock due to the great pricing and easy shipping. Our mattress arrived within 2 weeks of our order and the shipping was dirt cheap. We would strongly recommend this mattress...it has completely changed our sleeping in a good way.Read More
After a lengthy time of researching mattresses my husband and I decided on the Simmons Beautyrest "Classic". We actually went to a variety of stores and felt this was the bed for us. I found our dream mattress....the "Classic" in a King size pillowtop for less than half of the price on Overstock!!! This is literally one of the best purchases I have ever made! The courier only took about 2 weeks to get it here; and my husband and I are having great sleep and comfort every time we lay down. Thank You So Much Overstock for Your great service! :)Read More
Not having alot of money to buy a king size bed this one was a great buy. First off, we received our boxspring/matress set earlier than expected. The delivery people will set your item up where ever you wish. This mattress It really is comfortable and well worth the price you pay. Being from a military family with not alot of spare money laying around this was again a surprise find...Read More
This is a pretty good mattress for the price. I was somewhat disappointed that the "plush pillow top" wasn't as soft as my previous bed. Overall, it was a good purchase. Though I am now considering the purchase of a memory foam topper for the bed because, as I indicated, my wife and I like a very soft mattress. I would recommend this bed to a friend simply because its virtually unbeatable for the price.Read More
This mattress was wonderful at first but it is apparently not made for big guys. My husband is 6' 1" and about 260 lbs. and the pillow top on his side of the bed is sliding over the edge after just 2 months. Slightly disappointing.Read More
I would recommend this mattress to a friend but not through overstock. The mattress is very firm and you can hardly feel a thing if someone gets on the other side. The delivery took over 4 weeks and that's only because I spent hours on the phone trying to track down the issue. My order was basically lost. The delivery company went to the warehouse to pick it up but the mattress was out of stock (ironic considering the name of the company) but no one followed up with my order. It wasn't until I called after 2 weeks that anyone knew that there was a problem that needed to be resolved. It took another 2 weeks on the phone in order to finally get my mattress. Total waste of my time.Read More
I bought this fmattress or my daughter who had just moved into a new house and had surgery a week later. I emailed a request that the delivery be expedited so that the mattress would be in the new home when she returned to recuperate after surgery. They actually did it! The mattress was waiting for her upon her return. Internet shopping can be just as personal and considerate as a face-to-face merchant. I was extremely grateful and impressed!Read More
Our mattress arrived two weeks ago and what a disappointment it is. There is no way the one received can be considered a comfort level of 7.5 (should be rated a 4-5) because there is nothing soft or plush about it, in fact, it is like sleeping on concrete. The reviews for this mattress are two opposites "firm" or "cloud like" and there may be a reason for that. I questioned Simmons quality control and asked Overstock to look into it, and they said they checked with Simmons and it is the correct mattress. Thank you for checking O, but I still question it because the model number did not come close to matching the one on-line, though it did match most closely 91 number off) with the firm Porter plush pillow top. Note: As of today, the model number has been changed on Overstock to the one on our mattress tag. Do yourselves a favor and buy a mattress from a brick and mortar store that offers a satisfaction guarantee and 30 day return. I could have spent $$%^& on many others things, but we are now stuck with a very uncomfortable mattress with no recourse. We have also spent over $*$& on mattress toppers. This was a hard lesson to have learned, literally. Seriously, run, don't walk away from this one and buy local. On a good note, you can't fault the order and delivery process . Mattress was ordered and delivered in one week. The delivery was flawless and the guys super nice. Kept everything dry even in the tropical storm that was passing through at the time.Read More
We needed a mattress that was soft on the surface , but not too squishy underneath. This one is just about perfect! It arrived on time, and in perfect condition.Read More
I have only had this mattress for less than a month, but I have already seen the difference in the quality of sleep I am getting. The softness was almost exactly perfect as is, but throwing a simple thin mattress pad on top made it complete. For the price I paid around the holidays, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.Read More

How many inches from top to bottom of box spring?
Thank you for your interest in the Beautyrest Classic Porter Plush Pillow-top King-size Mattress Set. We are not sure of the measurement of the set and were you what it to inreference to. If you can get us more information we could be a better help to you. Have a great day.
I am confused about the coil count. A previous Q&A listed it as 575, but Q&A's on other mattresses quote the "Materials" line of the product details. So, is the coil count on this mattress 575 or 1046? If 575, can you please explain what "1046 density" means?
Thank you for your interest in the Beautyrest Classic Porter Plush Pillow-top King-size Mattress Set.The coil density of the Beautyrest Classic models is 1046. We always quote coil density because we use a thicker, more durable 360 degree foam encasement. Due to the thickness we remove some coils but DENSITY is how many coils would fit in the mattress without foam encasement, it gives our customers the ability to ?compare apples to apples? when looking at multiple brands.
Hi - I slept on a Simmons mattress at The Langham Hotel in London. It was great and I would like to find the equivalent in the U.S. I was told it has a base with a sprung edge and the mattress has 1200 firm pocket springs. What would be the U.S. equivalent? Thank you, Shannon
There is no exact US equivalent since hotel mattresses are typically different than what is sold through retail venues.
What is the coil count on this mattress?
The king-size coil count is 575.

Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses

Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body.
