Bought this mattress set 2 years ago. It's very comfortable and we were initially happy with the purchase. After several months of owning I came to realize that the pillow top is only on one side...so there's no flipping. My last mattress lasted 10 years largely because we were able to flip it. So, now we have had it 2 years and it's failing miserably. Our backs ache each morning and I'm now searching for a new mattress. We are physically fit, not overweight and back aches should not be an issue...we have concluded it's the bed and it's poor quality.Read More
We were long over due for this, as our previous 11-year old mattress had dips on both sides, from me (reversed it several times) at 230#. Delivery guys were swell, and took away the old stuff and all packaging. Very happy.Read More
LOVE LOVE LOVE this mattress and box spring. Highly recommend. In the simplest words it's a firm pillowtop. Great price on this product on Overstock and surprised there hasn't been more reviews.Read More
We have had our mattress for about 2 months and it does just what we wanted. We can sleep independently. If one of us gets up during the night, the other is not disturbed at all.Read More
I didn't know whether to buy a bed online but I am so glad I did. The bed is firm as I wanted but not rock either which my partner would not have liked. I have been in a deep sleep every night since I got this bed and dream every night and am completely rested when I wake up in the morning. We went to so many neighboorhood mattress stores and they all said noone makes Cali King's anymore, the beds they had were all *** and lucky if they would go down to ***. Our bed was under *** and it only took about 2-3 weeks for delivery. Delivery company called and scheduled with me, the delivery men carried the bed where I needed it and took away the old one. I would def recommend to buy this bed from Overstock. Its great.Read More
It never occurred to us to purchase a mattress via the internet but after seeing local store prices and quality, Overstock's prices could not be beat. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a mattress set that was exactly as described and delivered in perfect condition. The mattress is great for someone who wants the cushiony softness of a pillow top but the firmness of a regular non-pillowtop mattress.Read More
My boyfriend like a firm mattress, and I like a plush mattress. This one is soooo soft, but is also supportive, so it works well for both of us. This same exact mattress is sold in a mattress store in our area for $1,800. We laid on it before we ever bought it. Thanks to overstock.com we got an amazing deal! I cannot express enough how happy I am with this purchase!Read More
Questions & Answers
Hi beebs58, unfortunately this item does not come with a split boxspring. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for shopping with us.
According to the product details it states the foudations (plural) are 36 x 83.5, so this would mean it is a split box spring. I also confirmed with the salesman at a local store that all Simmons King and Cal King sets have a split boxspring. I almost didn't purchase this set because of the misleading info from Overstock.
Hello, we apologize for the misinformation. This is a mattress set which does include box spring. We are very sorry for any confusion this may have caused. Thank you, and have a great day.
is there a warranty on this mattress? How many years?
Hello lacontenta, The warranty is 10 year limited manufacturer. Thank you for shopping Overstock.com, let us know if you have any additional questions.
How to Buy Sheets to Fit a Pillow-Top Mattress

The height of the padding varies, but generally, manufacturers make pillow-top mattresses in depths varying from 7 to 22 inches. Specially made deep-pocket sheets for pillow-top mattresses are available; however, it is important to know the depth of your mattress before purchasing sheets. Here's how to buy the best sheets to fit your pillow-top mattress.

Popular Sizes of Pillow Tops
Do you have an uncomfortable mattress that needs replacing? Your health, energy, and happiness rely on the quality of sleep you get, and a stiff or uncomfortable mattress can get in the way of a good night's rest. Pillow top mattresses make increasing comfort easy. If you're shopping for the best mattress, you'll want to learn about the most popular sizes of pillow tops.
Best Pillow-top Mattresses for Back Pain
The key to a good night's sleep when you have chronic back pain is as simple as choosing a good pillow-top mattress. Choosing the best mattress involves knowledge of your personal needs and preferences. To get a comfortable night's sleep, start by choosing a pillow-top mattress made from the right materials for you. Next, choose your preferred thickness. Finally, have firm sleep support underneath the cushions of the pillow-top. Below, you'll learn the best pillow-top mattresses for back pain. Choose the materials: Pillow-top mattresses are made from a variety of materials, so choosing the one that is right for you can make all the difference in the world. People with muscle pain should consider down pillow-top mattresses, which provide a cocoon to sleep in. Those with back issues will generally prefer memory foam pillow-top mattresses, which conform to the body and offer consistent support to areas like the lower back. However, it is important to check the manufacturer's information regarding the recommended weight allowances for these types of pillow-tops. Consumers who are heavier than the recommendations may find that the pillow-top cushion compresses in uncomfortable ways, leaving the mattress lumpy. Determine the thickness: Pillow-top mattresses come in a variety of thicknesses, from just 2 inches to 8 or more inches deep. Like choosing the right materials for your pillow-top, choosing the right depth is vital to getting a good night's sleep. Thinner pillow-top mattresses will allow more of the support from the remainder of the mattress to come through and will not develop body indentations as pronounced as those in a deep pillow-top. Pillow-top mattresses that are too soft may fail to provide back support and cause an increase in back pain. However, deep pillow-top mattresses are excellent for customers who suffer from fibromyalgia or other chronic pain. Check the warranty: Just as you would with any other purchases of its size, check the warranty of your pillow-top mattress. Most manufacturers will provide limited, pro-rated replacement warranties for manufacturer's defects, and some will provide a "comfort guarantee." Others may have specific conditions that must be met in order to maintain the warranty, such as having a boxed spring by the same manufacturer. Take note of any special conditions for the warranty and keep the paperwork. View All Mattresses Back to Guides Directory View All Mattresses

Best Mattresses for Every Sleeping Position
A mattress is one of the most important purchases you can make because you spend hours each day sleeping and rejuvenating for the next day. While shopping for a new mattress, keep in mind the typical sleeping positions you have to ensure you will find the right mattress to help with bone or joint alignment. Below, you'll learn the best mattresses for every sleeping position. Sleeping on your back: If you primarily sleep on your back, you need to find a mattress with support to prevent pain in the lower back. Sleeping on a mattress that does not have enough support causes muscle strain in the back and increases the chance you will assume a poor posture during sleep, leaving you achy in the morning. The best mattresses for this sleeping position have at least 400 to 800 14-gauge coils. Innerspring mattresses feature firm coils to support the back yet still mold to the curvature of the spine. Mattresses with box springs are ideal for those who sleep on their backs because they stabilize weight, offering back support and increasing the life of the bedding. Sleeping on your stomach: While sleeping on your stomach is comfortable, it also increases pressure and strain on parts of the body like the neck or back. Soft mattresses are the best for those who sleep on their stomachs. Look for mattresses that have 300 to 400 14-gauge coils, which will ensure the mattress is soft and comfortable. If you must use a pillow, look into buying a memory foam style, which molds to the head and neck to stabilize them during sleep. Sleeping on your side: Side sleeping is one of the most common positions on a mattress, and it may also be one of the hardest positions to shop for. Since you lay on your side, there is pressure on the shoulders and hips, which could make a firm mattress uncomfortable for sleeping. A mattress that is too soft is often not supportive enough to keep the spine in proper alignment. The ideal mattress for this position is one that has supportive coils, with a memory foam topper to provide comfort to the joints of the body.
