Mixed bag
Got the heater and started it up right out of the box. It is quiet and effective in heating my great room with a cathedral ceiling using a ceiling fan. We used it through the night and turned it off and un plugged it when we were not home. We were surprised and happy with how little our furnace kicked on. Our gas heat bill was just approx $50 more over the prior month. (Still waiting for the electric bill) Then one day less than a month later, without any warning, it just stopped. Overstock customer service is sending a replacement and I need to send the damaged unit back. The manufacturer has a 3 year warranty on the product. My fingers are crossed for the new unit.

Not to impressed
Due to all the advertising for this type of heater, I decided to purchase this one because of the price. After receiving it, it never got to temperature and never automatically shut off. I believe the thermastat was defective and I returned the unit for a refund.

Better than expected
We have a drafty, cold house even though it has been well insulated this summer. When the temps outside drop, it doesn't take long for the temp inside to follow and our heat pump runs forever without really heating the house. Once we figured out the best location and temp to set the Bear Heater to, our house has been much warmer AND we were able to lower the temp on our heat pump. The Bear works wonderfully giving us even heat, not a dry heat like with our heat pump. It's a lot quieter than I thought it would be, however you can still hear it. We moved it to our dining room and it still heats that room, the kitchen, living room and up stairs (split level home, so it's just 3 steps up). I think it heats more area than is advertised... I would highly recommend this heater and we are considering purchasing a second one for the basement.

works great
This heater works for my condo of 600 sq feet. Mornings in Scottsdale needs the chill taken off my apartment. Hardly any noise that's what I like best. The regular heater was way to loud.

- Please tell us about the quality of the product. Good product except each caster has one different sized screw that will not stay in. When I opened the box several of the caster screws were loose in the bottom of the box.

We love this heater and it really does the job...we have an open floorplan and it really warms the rooms nicely........We are very happy with this heater and would recommend this heater.....

remote doesn't work, but heater does.
This heater is a nice looking heater and does well as a second source of heat if you want to take the chill out of a room without turning the thermostat up or on for those occasional cool days. The remote didn't work right out of the box despite purchasing a new battery and replacing that. Haven't seen an electric bill yet so I don't know how energy efficient it is.
