Great stew/soup pot
I was raised cooking on cast iron. The fact that the bottom cooking surface was not perfectly smooth does not effect the performance of the pot. It's not like you are going to be making sunny side up eggs in it! I do suggest seasoning or curing the pot a minimum of 3 times.
