This is sold as a double curtain rod set but it is not. Double curtains should mean that you can hang one curtain behind another. The way this comes is the bay window rod in 3 pieces. Other reviews have found this to be a perfectly acceptable solution, and I agree. The problem comes with the "double" part. Overstock includes one Extend-a-rod. That would be sufficient for a regular window, but this is a bay window with 3 sections. Who only wants to put 2 curtains on 1 section of their bay window? That makes no sense. The only way to make this a double curtain rod is to pay for 2 more Extend-a-rods (about $20/piece) and some how cobble them together up there, even though there really isn't any place on the sides to hang 2 more rods. I really don't know who this would work for, unless you for some reason just wanted 2 curtains on one of your windows.

How accurate was the on site description of the product? Accurate, but useless
This as a whole was a good product - sturdy, can hold weight. Make sure to check the type of curtains you have before ordering the width of the rod. Mine fit, but it was a tight fit. I thought I was going to be able to slide the curtains back and forth between the front curtain rod and the sides, but with the supports, you cannot do that. So, in many ways (and maybe it's just my bay windows), it's similar to having 3 separate rods. I do, however, like the way it looks much better than 3 rods. Good product, fairly easy to install and put together and I did it by myself so shouldn't be too difficult for anyone else!

These iron rods are of good weight and quality. The extra rod is a bonus and all the hardware was provided with easy to follow instructions.
I am happy with this purchase.

Can curtains on rings, pulled all the way to either side, be pulled all the way around the rod to meet in the middle of the bay?yellow1977 on Sep 3, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello yellow1977, No, the supports will stop the curtains from being pulled all the way around. As one reviewer states, "it's similar to having 3 separate rods". Please let us know if you have additional questions. Thank you for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on Sep 5, 2013

Do you sell 2 add a rod's for a complete double 3 window set. I see where this only has one double rod, yet there are two more windows in a bay? what do you recommendnolegirl93 on Apr 24, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello, nolegirl93. Hope your day is going well. The add-a-rods are designed to work with the main center rod only. The add-a-rods do not work with the side pipes of our Bay Window rods. The side pipes adjust between 20-41 inches and the add-a-rod's opening measure in 28 inches, so the add-a-rods are too long to work with the side pipes as double rods. Thank you for shopping with us and please feel free to contact us again with any further questions.

What are the adjustable lengths for the side rods vs. the center rods? On the "single rod" descriptions (http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Bay-Window-1-inch-Adjustable-Rod-Set/4780140/product.html) this information is given, but not on the double rods. Please advise if they are the same as the single rod (e.g, "Rod adjusts from 38 inches to 78 inches for the center window, 20 inches to 41 inches for side windows").
This exact question was asked for the 5/8" double rod and wondered if it is the same for this 1", as the q&a here don't seem to answer the question specific enough

I understand that the rod adjusts from 28 to 70 inches. However, what are the maximum lengths of EACH of the THREE sides? I need to cover 51", 55" and 51" sides. Would this rod work?elizabethpyd on Sep 3, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
The rod adjusts from 38 inches to 78 inches for the center window, and from 20 inches to 41 inches for side windows. Therefore, this would not meet your requirements as your side windows are 51 inches wide and the rods only extend to 41 inches.overstockcustomercare1 on Sep 4, 2012
