  • Free standing towel rack

    Oct 18, 2014

    jadolphin99  from Hillsboro, TX, Rating:4.0

We had limited space and a wall towel rack wasn't big enough, this free standing towel rack suited our purpose. It was narrow enough to fit in the space we needed it in that would allow the shower door to open.

This worked perfectly in our contemporary master bath we wanted to dress up.

Avoid this merchant "Main Street". The item is fine; but check what merchant will actually sell it and ship. They do disreputable practice: 1. Immediately after I purchased this item, the then put it on sale. 2. They immediately sent the shipping information to FEDEX, although it took 10+ additional days to deliver the item to FEDEX to start the actual sipping. 3. By doing this they lock in the transaction as "shipped" and block you from canceling when you see that they have discounted the price. 4. The packing was shoddy, with the thin box split open, and the padding flicked with actual trash (used shipping receipts, used travail tissues. (As if they expect the customer to dispose of their trash.) Fortunately refunded the difference so they are reputable. I would buy this item again, but definitely NOT from this merchant "Main Street".

It seems odd that this shelf connects with two very small brackets, one screw each. My contractor didn't think it looked strong enough to hold much anything; looked like it would sag with weight. That's probably true, but the six or eight bottles of shampoo and lotion we have on it are no load at all. It would take a much bigger load to make it sag. We had a glass divider made for our shower, and the edges of the glass on this shelf are finished to a much higher level of detail than our big glass. Chrome is very shiny. This is thick glass and these things are heavy.

I like the the unique look that this gives to the bathroom. It's nice and heavy but not to heavy and the square end makes it stand out from all the rest, it's an eye catcher.
