We are planning on staining the cabinet a light color as the bathroom will be light marble and limestone. Also discussed putting in two GFI rated outlets inside the cabinet for our electric toothbrushes to be charged out if sight.
This item would have been perfect for us because we had trouble finding a wood color that matched our new vanity. We planned to stain it to match. We ordered 2 because we were remodeling 2 bathrooms. The first problem was that it was not packed well so the corners came in chipped. The second problem came when we began staining it some areas took the stain darker than others so much so that the only way we can use them is to paint them.
I spent a long time looking online for a recessed medicine type cabinet that did not have a mirror on the front. This cabinet fit the bill perfectly. It's exactly what we needed, and most importantly it arrived within a week and is solid, well made and has plenty of storage. It comes with 3 glass shelves, and you can vary the height of the shelves according to what you need. The product is bare wood, but smooth and ready to paint. We easily painted it inside and out with a little primer and white semi-gloss paint. It feels like a quality product. This is not a cheaper melamine type cabinet. I'd buy this cabinet again, and I'd absolutely recommend this product.
Overall fine product. Easy to install & paint. Put together with simple construction. Relatively strong & secure with planned use. Item as described. Only issue iis a bit overpriced.
I bought two of these cabinets for my bathroom renovation. They're about 4 or 5 inches in depth so they fit a lot. I have them side by side and I bought hammered bronze handles to use instead of the silver knobs they came with. Other than that, the glass shelves were packaged perfectly, the shelf holders fit exactly and the wood was smooth/flawless. I stained them a mohogany color and look gorgeous with the bronze accessories in the room.
