Barton Bycast Pneumatic Lift Office Chair

To Overstock.com We ordered the chair and had it shipped to our son as a Christmas gift. We arrived in St Louis on Dec 25th late, and decided to open the shipping box next morning. To our surprise the box was badly beaten up, even patched over with an extra piece of corrugated cardboard where one of the legs was broken through. No significant damage - just minor scratches we could live with. BUT no hardware packet. On investigation looking for a number to call, we found the packing slip. It was from Sears.com and addressed to a woman in Ohio - puzzling. Then we found that there was a shipping label to the same person that had been pasted over with white sticky labels. More puzzling, because there was a UPS shipping label clearly to our son!! So we called the Sears number and they had no record of a purchase by us, but did have one for the Ohio lady. Then we found another invoice packet with a shipping invoice from Overstock. When we called to get the hardware packet we were told we should have the shipping box examined and put in a claim, then eventually told we would be notified if a hardware packet could be sent to us. We are awaiting notification still about this. How did Overstock ship this to us without removing the Sears invoice and rechecking the box contents???? Doesn't speak highly of Overstock's attention to detail. Looks like it should be good if we get the hardware to assemble it!
