I was looking for a rod to use across my entire dining room wall to hide my french doors and add some extra elegant drama for evening dining. This rod was extremely easy to hang and if you expose the ends, gives a touch of industrial or 'restoration' to the room. It would have easily cost me triple the costs in one of those bath or home stores. This is not a cheap rod, it is very well constructed, and sturdy. Best to predrill holes and use the anchors to insure the hangers are in the wall tight, especially given the size of this rod. I have 4 large 95" chocolate blackout panels with grommet tops hanging from the rod and it looks like I had a designer put it together! With free shipping as a club O member, and the 5% back, this was a complete no brainer!

Please tell us about the quality of the product. Extremely Sturdy, well made, not a cheapy creepy rod!
How accurate was the on site description of the product? as described
Loved the casual look of these rods. I ordered them because of the way they wrap back allowing the curtains to help keep out the cold outside air. As another reviewer stated, one does have to take the whole rod down to change the curtains, so if you change your look a lot, you may not wish to have these rods. Otherwise, a great buy!

I am completely satisfied with this great curtain rod! I love the design because my blackout drapes can come all the way around to the wall and close out ALL of the light. If you want to hang energy efficient/blackout drapes, this is the ONLY curtain rod you should use!
This curtain rod is heavy duty and looks wonderful! I didn't even need the center support, it's so sturdy! I'll be purchasing more of these for my other large windows. You can't beat the price either! Love Overstock! Thank you for another great product!!!
As others reviewers stated, GREAT buy. This curtain looks very farmhouse chic and the wrap around is actually incredibly clever to seal out light and draft. Curtain was "easy" to install... warning you should check that where you're drilling is hollow (i.e., no concrete slab behind...). If the drywall is hollow, it's super easy to drill holes and use the standard anchors and screws they provide (might be useful if you get extra/your own though if you're nervous about their hardware). Note they come with EXACTLY enough screws/anchors for their brackets, so if you mess one up ... you're out of luck and can't complete the project unless you stop by a hardware store. If you don't have a drill, you can get metal screw anchors to drive into the wall (still just an anchor, so you would screw the screw into this metal anchor). Some reviewers expressed concern about installing this into drywall and not into a stud--we haven't had any problems (and hopefully will not). But I also purposefully chose not-super-heavy curtains (so if you're not mounting into a stud, maybe don't get the super heavy duty velvet curtains). For reference, we hung our curtain at about 110" wide and only used two side support brackets (couldn't get the middle one in the wall because of said concrete slab issue). But it is fine (so far, has been up for 2 months now). We hung three 52" x 96" blackout/insulated panels on it. Only drawback as far as I can tell is that the finish on the rod is definitely a little scratched?? Not a big deal to us, since 1) it's more of an industrial look anyway, and 2) you cover the rod with curtains... but if that would bother you you might need to invest at least double the price and get a rod somewhere else. For this price, this rod is perfect (and a great value).
I can't say enough about these rods, they are simple elegant so sturdy you do not need the center support if you you are hanging stationary panels. They look as good as custom rods I have used that cost hundreds more. I used the matte black rings and linen panels and they look sensational.
I had ordered the 96 - 144 inch barricade rod. Supposed to get them in tomorrow. Now I wished I had bought with the add on rod. Can I get it separately? If so how many would I need and how would it connect in the center if two are needed?lottofan on Dec 2, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

I have a 12 foot wide sliding door set to cover. When you say 144 inches, does that mean from the outside edge of flange to the opposite outside edge of the flange or the straight area of the curtain rod? Thanks.Robin S. on Nov 21, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello Robin S, the 144 inches is from the outside edges of the flanges. Thank you for shopping with us! overstockcustomercare1 on Nov 24, 2014

I need a rod to accommodate a patio curtain panel. If this rod will sag in the middle without the center bracket, then how will I be able to pull open the patio panel to one side of the window? The center bracket will get in the way. Is there a rod specifically designed for hanging patio panels on sliding glass doors that do not require center brackets?smj0219 on Oct 13, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello smj0219, we don't currently have any rods in this length that would accommodate a patio curtain panel without a center bracket. We do get new items in weekly though so please check back with us! A.C.overstockcustomercare2 on Oct 16, 2014

How many inches in length does each of the 2 turned ends measure if separated (not attached to the Add-A-Rod straight middle length of this curtain rod assembly? The reason for my question: I purchased the Bay Front Window Adjustable Rod and find that the 2 turned ends of the Bay Window rod are not long enough when fully extended to reach to point beyond window frame where curtain panels should begin (this measurement is ~46", but turned ends when fully extended only measure ~42-43".caseyndc on Jan 5, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

Thank you dan448 for your interest in the Barricade 96 to 144-inch Adjustable Energy Efficient Window Curtain Rod. I would not recommend using this on a pergola. Thank you for shopping with us!
overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 29, 2013
Thanks for your interest, yes they will as long as the rod pocket is at least 1 inch in diameter. overstockcustomercare1 on Mar 4, 2013
It would if the pocket is at least 3 inches. I would not recommend a pocketed curtain on this rod if you are planning on openning and closing them regularly. I don't think it would move smoothly over the rod.bourne2626 on Mar 14, 2013

I want to hang a grommet black-out drape over a 108" sliding glass door. Figuring 2 - 4 " for mounting on each side of the patio door, if I don't have the center support bracket, will it sag in the middle?waldokitty on Nov 19, 2012Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for your interest. Yes, the rod will sag in the middle without the center bracket. Please feel free to contact us again with any further questions.overstockcustomercare1 on Nov 20, 2012
I have not hung my rod yet but assume that it will sag due to the weight of the drapes over that span. The biggest problem with the rod is that grommet curtains tend to be wider, thus the curtain lays more on its side than straight folds.kjcrowe on Mar 28, 2013
Unfortunately, the Barricade rods are not ceiling-mountable. Brackets can be mounted to the wall only.overstockcustomercare1 on Oct 29, 2012
My curtains are pocket rod, I bought them at Overstock as well (Signature Warm Black Velvet 120-inch Blackout Curtain Panel), will they fit this rod?
