I purchased blackout curtains that are 108" long so I was originally concerned that this rod would hold the weight. It comes with a middle bracket and works great. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and appearance of this rod and my new blackout curtains and may buy them for more rooms.

The rod is strong and looks very nice. It came with a support bracket for the middle but the rod was strong enough that we didn't need to put it up. I liked it so much that I purchased two additional rods in different sizes to replace some of my older curtain rods in my home. Excellent buy.

Since the rods screw into the wall, you need a screwdriver if you want to take the drapes off. I have no problems with this but I think it was kind of pricey for what I received. But that's what happens when you shop late at night on the internet....

Does what it's supposed to. Even with Overstock pricing, it seemed expensive, especially when you realize the finish is painted on - but I couldn't find this style of rod any cheaper and it works great. The curtain curves around and lays flat on the wall. Added bonus that you have some adjustment capability (up to one additional inch) on the depth of the rod from the wall.
If you want the industrial look with a sturdy rod, this is it. If style is super important to you, then you should look elsewhere. I got mine in black. There isn't anything exceptional about the look of the rod; it's basic, but does seem to be very sturdy! The rod is actually made up of 3 parts (two end curved pieces and 1 middle straight rod). To make the rod longer, you simple pull on one of the curved ends (or both curved ends). this is good because if you plan on keeping your curtains open, the bar will appear to just be one long rod. You wouldn't notice the seams (or joint) at each curved edge. If you want to use this rod to go around a corner, just pop off one of the curved ends, BUT there are no threads on the inside of the pole. You'd need a connector that can just "pop" in (they have a plastic star-like end) or you'd have to drill a hole in the rod and connector and use a small screw to keep it in place. If you can get free shipping and need a sturdy rod but don't care too much about style, BUY. If not, then look to another store for a similar one and no shipping charge.
Will this rod support a single curtain for a patio door 75" w without center bracket or can the center bracket be used with single curtain. Thx for your assistance.ahllpn on Sep 21, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello ahllpn, it really depends on the weight of your drapes. The rule of them is a rod 8 feet or more should have a center supporting bracket. Thank you for shopping with us. Rochelle Boverstockcustomercare2 on Sep 24, 2014
I hung my thermal curtains without the center bracket.geekmom93 on Sep 29, 2014
Can I remove one end of the bar? I would like to remove one end and insert a corner rod connector. I wasn't sure if one side of the rounded bar is removable?cep81 on Sep 5, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question

Hello kksdragons, I hope your day is going well. I would try to hit a rafter to avoid the added weight bringing down some dry wall. Thank you for shopping with us and have a great day.overstockcustomercare1 on Aug 12, 2014
You probably need some toggle blots or hollow wall anchors.geekmom93 on Aug 28, 2014
How is the small round part attached to the wall? Does it mount flush? I do not see any holes in the small round part.bobbee8 on Aug 3, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Yes, the round piece flush mounts to the wall with two screws, and then the curved rod will slip onto that and be held in place with a small screw.poepourri on Aug 7, 2014
Yes there are holes to mount flush.geekmom93 on Aug 28, 2014
What is the total length of this, mounting pieces included? I have a 96" window with exactly 2" on either side to mount to, trying to figure out if I need this one or the 96"-144" one. Also, if this was extended to max length, would it sag in the center without the center support?bizwagon on Jul 16, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Thank you for your inquiry, bizwagon. We recommend that you purchase a bigger size and this will also prevent any sagging. We hope this helps. Thank you for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Jul 17, 2014
Our curtain are heavy blackout curtains. How strong are these rods? What is their weight limitation?lad on May 19, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello lad, the reviews will give you a good indication of how strong this curtain rod is. Unfortuantely, Overstock does not weight test items, so we don't have a weight capacity. The rods have been used for blackout curtains before. We hope this helps, and thank you for shopping with us.overstockcustomercare1 on May 23, 2014
I bought these for use with blackout curtains and they worked just fine.jojo14557 on May 29, 2014
I use them with thermal curtains and they work great. They have a center brace to use of wider windows.geekmom93 on Sep 20, 2014

Hi. Can you tell me the dimensions of the internal/side poles (not the main 1" rod)? I need to know the diameter and length of the poles that extend from the main rod in order to know if they will work with my current hardware. Additionally, what is the diameter of the portion of the bracket that the side poles slide over? Thank you.krbwe2 on May 13, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello krbwe2, thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the information you have requested is currently unavailable. We will continue to try and answer this for you. You will receive an email notification once an answer is posted. Have a great day.overstockcustomercare1 on May 28, 2014
if I understand your question - the 1" rod's curved ends fit tightly around the 2"l (approx) rod/disc you attach to the wall - this is not a 'cantilever' bracket w/wiggle room so it's a very good connection…. think of the 'elbow joint' of a pipe.
+ the rods have small screws at the top to tighten against this rod/disk bracket.
also, the center support necessary for longer installations is easy to attach (in a similar fashion as the end brackets) & makes a very secure support.lafcadiohearn on Jul 9, 2014
Hi.Can you tell what the pewter color like.Is it shiny silver like or dull.misra on Mar 20, 2014Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello misra, we appreciate your inquiry. The pewter is more of a dull silver with a slight sheen. It is definitely not shiny like chrome. We hope this information has been helpful. Thank you for shopping with us. Have a great day!overstockcustomercare1 on Mar 20, 2014
What are each of the individual lengths of the sides. The middle window is larger then the two end windows and we have found some of the bay window rods are not long enough for the combination we have.sweatydancer on Nov 14, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
This isn't a bay window rod, I don't think it will work for you. It is designed to fit flat against the wall.lshoes32 on Nov 22, 2013
what is the projection of the rod from the wall? Can it be adjusted? How much does the rod weigh?jsst34sj on Jul 22, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hi jsst34sj, the item weighs 3 pounds at the time of shipping. The rod projects 3.5-5.5 inches from the wall and can be adjusted as such. Thanks for shopping with us. overstockcustomercare1 on Jul 24, 2013
The projection is not adjustable, the curved part is a fixed depth.lshoes32 on Nov 22, 2013
Hello kmtort, We apologize for the delay in answering your question. Here is a link to the product page showing all the curtain rings. Then you will just have to match the ring diameter to the rod diameter. Hello. I'm trying to put up curtains where one window is on one wall and the other on the connecting wall, so I need to make it a corner rod (or whatever you would call that). I was thinking of purchasing 2 of these rods with this product in the corner: 'Casa Artistica by Menagerie Pole Elbow'.
This elbow is 2" diameter.Do you think this will work?
Thanks for any advicehbgirrl on May 29, 2013Please enter a valid question.Answer This Question
Hello hbgirrl, We apologize for not answering your questions sooner but we are still waiting for additional information. As long as the rod diameter fits into the elbow connector, there should be no problem. Please let us know if you have any additional questions and we will post any updates we receive regarding your question.overstockcustomercare1 on Jun 4, 2013
