I purchased the bench and chairs. They were simple to put together, didn't bother to ask my husband. They are very sturdy and look exactly like the photos. I bought some patio pillows to go with them, however they were comfortable without. Although they are on a covered porch the afternoon sun hits them. I bought teak oil to help protect the wood, which absorbed into the wood without changing the appearance. For the price, I am extremely happy with the purchase.

I would have given this chair five stars, but didn't because I found that one screw -- out of the mere six needed to assemble it -- wouldn't tighten at all, instead turning round and round in its apparently too-large hole. Should it fall out unnoticed, the remaining support screws would end up bearing the weight, which probably wouldn't be too good. The positives, however, far outweigh this one negative (which hopefully is merely a fluke). It's good-looking and of substantial weight, and a cinch to assemble. The seat is wide and comfortable; the back isn't very comfortable, but since I bought it as a single chair for my front entry, it more than adequately serves its purpose. Being under a portico will certainly help protect it from the elements, which should help maintain the oiled finish much longer. However, all I've read about this species of wood leads me to believe that it would do extremely well in the elements.

The chair was fairly easy to put together -- it took under half an hour. The oil stain was still a bit wet, but after two days it was ready to sit in. I am quite pleased.

We bought several pieces and are using them on the deck. They are all great with the exception of the small side table.

i purchased these chairs to go with a bench i already own, but in the same material. i realize time/age will help with the colour but these chairs are horribly red. the description said natural but there is nothing natural about this colour. the chair was less a couple of parts which i could easily replace because i have a wood shop but an average consumer would be bothered by this. i have had the chairs outside in the elements constantly for almost a year and they are holding up well. this spring i will oil them and see what happens with the colour. YIKES!!! i kid you not, it is really red. the pattern is classic, the construction is done well and they are actually comfortable. back pillows are always nice but not necessary.

I bought two of these chairs and the matching bench with the matching table in 2009.The chairs were easy to put together and all parts fit and were not missing. The chairs are comfortable enough, but the backs are straight and stiff, so I made lower lumbar pillows and that took care of the comfort right away. The color was as pictured, a nice orangish/brown stain. But, as expected, they began to weather, which is okay. We have no storage so they stay outdoors year round and are subjected to salt water spray and New England winters. Last year (2011), I power washed them and noticed that a few slats were beginning to crack slightly. So, this spring I intend to give them a protective coating of tung oil or other sealant after power washing. I would buy these again because they are sturdy as can be, the arm rests are the right height and the style is slightly different that other chairs like them. Store bought seat cushions also add to the comfort level. Which is good because they are also used by the elderly. The arms slip under the table easily. My only regret? I wish I bought four of these chairs rather than just two!!

I've had this chair for two years now and it still looks great. I oil it w/furniture oil several times during the warm months and put it under a cover out of the weather during our harsh winters. It's heavy enough to withstand some rough use. I have purchased other unassembled wood furniture and some can be a real nightmare to put together. This one was easy: all the parts fit snuggly and went together quickly.

Bought two of these chairs to go with a bench I bought prior for my front porch. Had to cover with linseed oil as they take the rain and humidity and heat in Fl often. Oil brings out a rich color and preserves from the weather to last long. They are hard and firm and I believe look like they will last a long time. I use often. I use w/o cushions as they sit w/o cover. But cushions would be good if under cover and you use more often. They are more for looks for me.. but I find I use more often than I thought. Nice grouping. Decent price. I am happy.

Beautiful chair, easy to put together, 6 screws. I was only disappointed in the length of the seat. It was not deep enough to be completely comfortable.

The finish doesn't match the "matching" bench at all. The finish of these chairs is a painted red color, not the stained finish of the matching bench or the description. I have not bothered to send them back, I may try to sand the red finish off and then seal the wood. I will use them in a less conspicious location and not with the bench that I purchased at the same time.

Bought two after a lot of research on a wood chairs. The price was the best I could find. Easy to put together and looks nice. Would recommend.

Good solid chair, but the predrilled hole was missing for one of the dowels and the holes were on the wrong side of one of the pieces. None of these were critical for the chair supports, but it was disconcerting to be forced to leave out 2 screws and a dowel because we did not have a drill. It helps to have two people put the chair together until the key screws are seated, but it is not required.

If you order the table and bench that is offered as a match to the chairs, don't expect them to all match. It seems like the the same wood itsn't being used to make them and the stain is supposed to mask that fact.

This chair was of very good quality. It was very easy to put together. We are very please with the quality of our order and how quickly it was processed. Thank you so much Overstock, this was our first experience and we will definately use you again.

Love the chair. Easy to assemble. Would have been helpful if they informed me I needed pliers - to tighten the wrench provided. Once I got the pliers, it went quick. The finish was a redwood stain. It was acceptable, but I immediately stained it with mahagony gel stain and it looks fabulous. Like I spent way more on it than I did. I could not find anything like it in the local stores. It is unique and well built. I would highly recommend

Somewhat disappointed with chairs. Quality is questionable. The orange stain rubbed off on my clothing when I first sat in them so had to wipe the chair down completely to get off as much as possible and then wash my clothes! Overall, for the price, the chairs are okay. But would not reorder.

I bought two if these. The wood pieces are not cut very accurately and do not fit together very well, and as a result, it was difficult to put them together. If I were handy or trained as a carpenter, I would have found a way to adjust the size of the pieces. Having said that, I couldn't be bothered to return the chair, adn it is comfortable to sit on, even if slightly wobbly.
