Super cute for toys and such, but isn't as good as I hoped for books because the depth of the shelves is so narrow and there isn't much clearance between branches for taller books (I think 8 inches or so is the max- not enough for most children's books). Also, all the arms are at an angle, so it is awkward for speakers and the like too. Looks great though.Read More
Nice and heavy. high quality. looks really nice in my sons roomRead More
This tree looks so cute in our son's nursery! If you have a baseboards it becomes a lot more complicated. We build a cubby under it so it would be a little taller and would fit flush against the wall. But Babyletto is also great brand. We accidentally knocked it over before we had it secured to the wall and 2 of the tree limbs broke but we were able to buy 2 replacement arms from Babyletto. Funny, even with the 2 extra arms, it was still less expensive than it would have been from other retailers!Read More
We bought this for our son's nursery. We are still in the prepping stages of the room so we have yet to really test this bookcase out for functionality, but we loved the design, quality, and the lower price thanks to Overstock!Read More
So cute, I love how unusual it is for my little boys room. They love to put stuffed animals on it but it doesn't look junky, it looks modern and fun. LOVE LOVE!Read More

Best Bookshelf Materials
It's not unusual for bookshelves to incorporate multiple materials for different features. If you haven't decided on wood, wood products, metal or glass bookshelves, look at their relative strengths and weaknesses. Look below to learn the best bookshelf materials. Wood: "Solid wood" is a common term for furniture made from lumber planks. Beware of making assumptions based on labels like "hardwood" and "softwood." Hardwoods are derived from deciduous trees and softwoods from coniferous trees; the terms don't connote their relative strengths. Balsa is a hardwood even though it is very soft, just as Douglas fir is a softwood even though it is very hard. They all make excellent, classic stock material for bookcases. Generally, harder woods are the heavier and more resistant to scratches. Still, softer woods, if treated correctly, will keep just as well as harder woods. Plywood: Made by stacking thin sheets -- "plies" -- of lumber and gluing them under pressure, plywood features grains that alternate direction for strength. Several grades are available, of differing cost. Top and bottom plies can be high-quality woods to create the appearance of fine woods, but edge veneer or molding is needed to complete the illusion. Particleboard: Wood chips glued together carry a much lower price tag than solid wood, and particleboard is denser and more uniform. It's a great choice when cost is the primary consideration. Bookshelves crafted from veneered composite boards can look and feel as good as real wood. MDF: Wood fibers, tiny chips and sawdust collected and glued into sheets form medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Low-cost MDF makes an excellent base for veneers; plus, its strength is consistent and it shapes well. Metal: There's a reason most library bookshelves are made from metal: Metal bookcases are resistant to moisture and fungus, their low-friction shelves are easier on books' bindings and metal's strength-to-weight ratio can't be beat. Their cost usually comes in below any other material. Glass: Glass bookshelves weigh more than other types, but if you plan on assembling your bookshelves only once, the style points can be well worth it. Tempered glass shelves (in wood or metal uprights, called "standards") give your home an unbeatable contemporary feel, and glass bookcases' smooth, transparent surfaces add brilliant levity to a decorating piece that might otherwise be notably opaque and heavy. Best Games to Improve Listening Skills for Kids
Many educational toys and games can help children develop their listening skills. Children often have difficulty developing good listening skills, and by playing educational games with your children, you can bond with them and guide their learning. Some learning and educational toys encourage independent learning while still focusing on listening comprehension. By using a variety of educational games and toys available focused on listening skills, children can learn while having fun. Improve Listening Skills: Board games: Board games require kids to listen to a set of rules. To play, they must retain the rules they just heard. Instead of letting the kid read the rules, read the rules to them. Have them repeat the rules back. The practice of repeating and using the rules they've learned helps reinforce their ability to listen and remember. Video games: Age-appropriate educational video games work similarly to videos, music, and other auditory games. These games can be played alone or with others. Video games can be played on most game consoles, on computers, and through many websites. To complete game tasks, kids must listen to and remember instructions. Auditory games: Games such as "Simon Says" or "Bingo" require kids to listen in order to play. If they don't listen, they can't perform tasks correctly. Children like to win games, and games that focus on another player stating steps or have an audio component to state tasks and steps will encourage kids to improve their listening skills. Play these games with your child to help make the games more fun. Books: You can turn any children's book into a listening game. Read a book to a child and ask questions afterward. For every correct answer, provide some type of reward. If reading to a group, turn the questions into a group game. Many books focus solely on improving listening skills, such as riddle books which require kids to listen to and remember all details before they can solve the riddle. Other books include guessing games such as "20 Questions." To guess the answer, kids must remember the answers to the 20 questions. Videos and music: Many kids' movies, shows, and songs are actually full of games. These games require children to listen carefully to perform the desired task. Typically, these tasks include saying a certain phrase or doing a certain dance or exercise move. These tasks build upon each other to develop kids' ability to listen and remember what they've heard.
