I purchased this night stand and the Axium 6-drawer dresser and am very happy with both. The night stand was fairly easy to assemble -- it was about what you can expect from an item that comes totally unassembled. It took my husband and I less than an hour to put together. It is a very nice piece of furniture, very sturdy and heavy. It is actually a bit larger than I had expected -- it's a great addition to our guest room. All the pieces were intact and without mars or damage.
I was surprised how heavy and solid these nightstands are when assembled. They do take a little while to put together, and I highly suggest a drill with a screwdriver bit attached. They look black in the picture, however, with the right lighting the brown espresso tones can be seen. Overall, they are nice pieces and I would definitely recommend them.
The table, once assembled, is good looking and sturdy. The problem was that the instructions are poor, the holes were not drilled where they should have been and two of us could not complete the job - we called in a friend who was stymied as well. Finally got it assembled - it probably could have been a tighter fit and we had so many screws and other parts left over that the instructions seemed to ignore. We are using it next to a bed on the far side of the room so it looks fine and will serve the purpose well. I think it was too much money for what it is - and - there you have it!
I purchased these night stands and I love them they are beautiful. Not too hard to put together. Recently, however, I am a little disappointed that on the top surface a crack has developed in the wood. I don't know why...maybe the screw in that section is too tight. The crack is fairly large and seems like it is splitting the wood. If it is a workmanship issue then that is my only complaint.
