Generous storage bench with attractive fabric
I purchased a smaller upholstered ottoman in this fabric from a big-box store and grew to love the fabric. I was excited to find a whole family of products using the same fabric here on Overstock.com. The fabric is a cream color with hints of yellow and white near the dark design elements. There are birds, butterflies, and various flora in the design. It is pretty but not overly feminine. This upholstered bench is higher quality than its ottoman cousin (and designed for sitting). The storage space is generous, and there are high-quality hinges to hold the top open. You can place the bench against a wall, but you will need to pull it out a few inches to open the top. The seat is cushier (less firm) than I expected, as if the cells of the upholstery foam are too large for this type of application.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The photo gives a good impression of the cream background, but fails to show the hints of yellow and white.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. The upholstery foam is mid-grade, but the hinges are high-quality.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Poor, given that the Product Details state that the upholstery is "White and black", but I had prior personal experience with this fabric. Also, the dimensions of the bench were incorrect prior to purchase; I had to call to get the correct dimensions. My call seems to have prompted a website correction.

Neither the description nor picture transmit the impression of the color. There is a LOT of yellow in this bench fabric, where it only looks black and white. I like it, which is why it gets 2 stars...but I can't use it anywhere. I'll have to "make" a place for it.
