I saw a bookcase that looked exactly like this one from an expensive manufacturer for almost 3x the money. I didn't want to spend that much on one piece of furniture but I really liked the look and thought it would be perfect for all our storage/display needs in our living room. When I saw this bookcase at overstock.com I was unsure about what quality I could expect. Based upon the above and my previous experiences with overstock.com I made the purchase. I had a contractor friend construct the bookcase so I don't have any personal experience to speak of but my contractor friend commented on it being a snap to put together although it does take two to stack each piece on top of each other. He was also impressed on it being such great quality especially from an online outlet. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I got the exact look I wanted, great quality and at a third of the cost.

EXTREMELY WELL PACKED - LOOKS GREAT IN THE ROOM - MINIMAL ASSEMBLY BUT IT TAKES 2 PEOPLE TO LIFT THE SECTIONS UP ON EACH OTHER -- STILL WELL WORTH ASKING THE NEIGHBORS FOR HELP

We are very pleased with this bookcase. It is made from quality materials, and the workmanship is excellent.
