Wonderful craftsmanship. Very heavy and well made. I have gotten many raves on my table settings. The color is more of a deep turquoise than blue. My accessories and stemware are trimmed in cobalt, so they don't quite match, but I love this dinnerware so much that I see it as another shopping opportunity in order to complete my updated table look.

The color on the bottom of the plates and on the inside of the bowls is black. I thought it was dark brown. I kept them because Overstock was charging me %%% of what I paid for them to return them. Be very sure it's what you want from looking at the picture.

Great dishes. I have had them a while and no chips, even from handling them rough. I have smacked a mug on the counter a few times and no chips!

I was so excited when I recieved these the other day. They are gorgeous. Although it cost more for shipping than the product to ship to Canada, it came all in one piece, no cracks or breaks!

I've had two of these plate sets for over a year now, and they have taken a beating. My toddlers love to throw toys in the sink, and you always hear a loud "CLINK" when ever they do this, yet one plate has yet to break. They have a hand-made appeal to them. The pieces aren't exactly the same, and they also seem hand-painted. This is a very beautiful and sturdy set. All the pieces are heavy too. My family is rough when it comes to cutting things on the plates and I have yet to find a scratch!

It's a dark set. The dinner plate is very big, I use them as a platter. I cannot put the large plate by the soap dispenser in the dishwasher too big. The quality is every good still intact after 2 years.

I bought 2 sets of these dishes after remodeling my kitchen. I really liked the way they look. I am disappointed at how easily they chip. Several plates chipped in the dishwasher and another when I bumped it on the counter - and it was not a very hard bump. I have had Mikasa dishes for many years and they never chipped as easily as these. They are very unique looking and they look great on the table, except for the chips. Ath this price, I would expect them to hold up better. I would not buy them again.

I get complements on them every time someone sees them. They are solid and substantial in weight. I found the colors to be very well represented in the online photos. I only bought one set and keep meaning to pick up a second, so it is safe to say I would buy them again!

We got 2 sets about a year ago now and it is holding up very nicely, just one small chip now on one of the salad plates. Previously, I would end up buying a set every year because of chips, etc. Many times t plates don't hold up in the microwave, even though they are make "safe". We regularly heat food on these in the microwave. They are good weight and quality and well worth the price.

I wanted to put these dishes to the test prior to reviewing them. I have now put them through the test, my husband and 14 year old son have loaded and unloaded them from the dishwasher, microwaved them and they are by no means gentle. They stood up beautifully, no chips! The only complaint I have is that one dinner plate arrived broken and it was just too big of a hassle to send it back during the holidays. I had ordered two boxes, so I have service for seven, not eight!~ The colors are gorgeous and very unique. They are truly gorgeous and I consider myself quite picky.

These dishes just grabbed me and they are more beautiful in person than I thought!

My mother found this set and asked for this for christmas. Being a good son that I am, I bought it for her and had it shipped to her in Georgia. She fell in love with the set when she placed them on her Dinning room table. She recently had a big Christmas party and everybody complimented her on the plates on the table. If you want to get these plates, I would recommend having some color in the room. My mother has a blue dinning room set and she bought some items that are green that goes along with the plate. This sets really bring attention to the table. This plate set is for very creative interior decorating. They are beautiful and a wonderful gift for someone.

This is a beautiful set of dishes! We are very pleased with this purchase! We purchased 2 sets for our beach house and they are WONDERFUL!

I am pleased with these dishes. I agree with previous reviews in that they are durable and don't seem like they will chip as opposed to my other dishes. Great design and color - as represented in the pic. Excellent buy. My only downfall with them is I have some trouble holding the bowls with one hand while I hand wash because of their shape. Otherwise, they are fab!
