I really, REALLY wanted to love this sofa. I'd been looking at it on Overstock for over a month, waiting for someone else to purchase and review it. No one did, so I finally ordered it and a week later and unfortunately am sending it back. Overstock Customer Care has been very helpful in this process. First the good - the material is soft, feels resilient, and is a deep mocha color. The cushions are firm without being unyielding. Since this is a small sofa (read that: SMALL - the depth is only 30" from the wall) - it's a sectional that doesn't take over the room. Sitting on it is very comfortable - I'm 5'6" and it came right to the back of my knees. Since it's not deep, it's not really a snuggling or laying-down couch. The sofa looks great once assembled. Unfortunately, my couch arrived damaged. Overstock offered to replace the defective part, but I asked about a return since there were other issues with it once assembled. The couch simply is too rickety for actual use. The whole thing moves when a person sits on it, and if you move and/or bounce on one end, the other moves, a lot. The support legs do not firmly screw onto the frame, and feel like they may break off with the normal wear and tear that a sofa/sectional undergoes. The frame is not hardwood, but MDF - at least on the one that I got. When mine arrived, the wedge piece was defective. First the seat backs wouldn't fit on the prongs on the seat base that they slide onto (the prongs were misaligned), but after a bit of muscle we were able to get them on. The problem was, the seat backs on the wedge moved - at least an inch - even after the whole thing was put together. One heavy person pushing back, or a child jumping, and they feel like they might break off. Overall, I feel that this sofa would be perfect for a Realtor or real estate staging company that needs a staging couch that looks nice, is small enough not to take up too much room, and since its a section will make a room feel big, but which won't really be actually sat upon much. Overstock has offered a return and they will pay the shipping, for which I am grateful. But, I really don't feel the company should be selling a product that is this poorly made.
- How did the color on site compare with the actual product? The color was much darker - a true mocha; the picture is almost cream.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. The cushions are fine quality but the construction is very poor.
- How accurate was the on site description of the product? Somewhat - the frame is NOT hardwood; it is MDF. This makes it much less durable.
