Nothing spectacular but it works for the price. You will have to modify the frame by getting yourself some 1x12 boardS of some type to properly support the mattress. ****WARNING**** YOU WILL HAVE TO STAY ON TOP OF THE SHIPPING COMPANIES (YES MULTIPLE) THAT SHIPS OVERWEIGHT OR OVER-SIZED ITEMS. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS YOUR ITEM WILL JUST SIT THERE IN A WAREHOUSE SOMEWHERE AND ALL YOU WILL GET IS SOME IGNORANT AUTO-DIAL VOICE MAIL THAT GIVES YOU INACCURATE DELIVERY AND CONTACT INFORMATION WITHOUT ANY WAY OF ACTUALLY CONTACTING THEM. YOU WILL HAVE TO LOOK THEM UP AND PURSUE THE ISSUE YOURSELF BECAUSE: *****OVERSTOCK.COM WAS ABSOLUTELY USELESS***** AND TOOK OVER 5 BUSINESS DAYS TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. BY THAT POINT YOU CAN FIX IT YOURSELF. FYI: ITEM TOOK OVER A MONTH TO ARRIVE EVEN THOU IT SAT IN A WAREHOUSE NEAR ME FOR 2 WEEKS.Read More
Overall, this is a beautiful bed - I was a bit skeptical by ordering online, as things are not always what they seem when you order from a photo, but I was pleasantly surprised in this case. The headboard tailoring is very nice, and it seems to be very good quality, w/ the exception of the slats that are supposed to support a hefty king-size mattress. My husband was doubtful that they would hold, so we went to Lowe's and bought some plywood cut to fit, and dropped it in over top of the existing slats. Delivery was quick (less than a week I think) and it was brought right to our door, came in 3 boxes, and was very easy to assemble. I would recommend, esp. for the price, in comparison to similar items seen online. Would be an "excellent" rating if slats were sturdier though.Read More

Does this bed require a box sping? Will it come with slats? And if so, how many?
Hello darleengnikki, Thank you for your inquiry! This bed does not require a box spring. However, you are able to use a box spring to raise the height of the bed. There are approximately 14 slates. I hope this helps. Happy shopping.
My mattress manufacturer (Simmons) included care instructions with its BeautyRest WorldClass mattress which state that a box spring is required for bed frames with slats spaced more than 2 inches apart. The Aria bed's slats are spaced approximately 2 3/4 inches apart. The instructions warn that the mattress could otherwise get damaged. What can happen and who is right?
Hello henriknyc, This bed is designed to be used without a box spring. If you particular mattress specifically states not to use on this type of bed then I would recommend you follow their guidelines. You may need to reach out to Simmons for specific information on the potential risks. You may also consider placing a plywood foundation over the slats, or using a bunkie board with your current mattress. Thank you for shopping with us.
