This wool/silk rug is actually a Jaipur made rug of very high quality, referred to as Baroque Rust. The colors are spectacular warming up your room with bronze, rust, and various shades of green and tans. I would tag this rug as a classic abstract. The rug design name is Bernini. It does not shed at all! The rug looks exactly like the picture depicts it. The rug arrived in 2 days in perfect condition; be prepared for its weighty luxury and softness! I recommend this quality rug to the selective buyers like me who want a huge bargain too. Thanks to Overstock!

The description on the back of the rug said, "silky smooth texture created by looping New Zealand yarn over layers of synthetic silk sheets known as viscose." My description is: The wool appears to be at the back of the rug holding threads of shiny polyester (synthetic silk) to the canvas backing. This rug doesn't have the look of having any wool because that part of the rug is not visible unless you pull apart the fibers of the polyester threads. It has a high sheen which gives it a very formal look. The web description alludes to this by saying "a touch of elegance". I ordered black. This is NOT a solid black rug as it looks on the web page. The synthetic threads are black and brown mixed. A little more black than brown. The wool that you don't really see is black. The big problem that I have with this rug is it smells like it came out of a flood zone. It had a terrible stench before I even opened the bag, and worse when opened. I don't know if all of theses rugs will have the mildew problem. I am allergic to mold, so it is going back.

This rug is a very pretty safavieh product, and exactly what I wanted for my space. Here are some more specific details: COLOR: The overall color isn't as bright as what is shown on the site, but overall it does read a minty-sea glass color. The base is lighter and can almost read gray-ish green at certain angles, but the darker/brighter green stripe really makes the overall color blend well. ALSO, the rug has a little sheen to it, which I think is so pretty, but this could be why the color looks a little different depending on your angle. Like some parts seem darker or lighter where the light hits. I think this makes it look and feel more expensive, but it would be a personal preference thing. I have a silk sea glass, almost jade green drapery in this room, so it really brings out the colors of the rug beautifully. QUALITY/FEEL: This rug is VERY soft. I have a few other safavieh wool rugs in my home and this is by far the softest. It's not a shaggy pile at all, but it's one of those that you can kind of sink into if that makes sense. It feels almost padded. It would be perfect for a room where you actually want to sit on the rug. I don't know about shedding yet, though I'm sure it will since ALL wool rugs do. I have had good and bad experiences with this manufacturer on shedding so I think it really depends on the style/make of the rug. I personally LOVE this rug, and I think it's a great way to bring some greens into your room without being a completely bright green rug.

I got this area rug to use in my den which is a high traffic area. When I got the rug, I was a little disappointed because eventhough it looked like the picture, the quality of the rug was not what I expected. The descripition reported that it was a silk and wool rug....I still haven't seen the silk. We decided to keep it and give it a shot mainy b/c my husband didn't want the hassle of sending it back. We have bought other rugs from overstock and this is the first time the quality was so poor. The rug has shed like crazy. I've filled up 3 cannisters on my dyson. Plus, little threads are coming out the the rug. I have oriental rugs all over my house and I have never had this happen before. I've only had it less than 2 weeks. I don't think I 'll be buying anymore rugs from overstock again.

I have two of these. They are quality and look good with my wool and wool/silk hand knotted rugs. very good workmanship. Good density to the pile.

Wanted this rug to put over 24" grey tiles. Have other rugs in the room and this two tone pattern blended nicely without competing with the other rugs. I selected it because it was not wool. It looks like silk, lays flat and not too thick. It is a focal point and not too busy. Just what I was looking for. The raised pattern adds extra texture and interest. Love this rug.

First, this rug was priced so much lower than anything else I could find, I would have been pleased based on that fact alone. And with free shipping, I felt like I had already hit the jackpot! Add to that, the color on my monitor was spot-on when I saw it in real life. It's a beautiful rug! A few things that you can't see in the picture: The leaf shapes are kind of raised up, almost sculpted. This is where they used the art silk poly, so they are a little softer than the background and they have a bit more color dimension (lighter and darker shades). Also, the back is finished with a very soft cotton backing and the edges are nicely finished. We laid this directly on our hardwood floors. There is heavy furniture on it, so it doesn't slip, but if there wasn't we would probably need a rug pad. It does have a bit of a barnyard smell--it's made of wool after all, but that's been fading. It also shed some at first, but that has gotten much better with regular vacuuming. It's not as soft as some synthetics under the feet, but I like how it feels. There were also a few longer yarns here and there that I had to clip to the right height, but that isn't a big deal to me. I highly recommend this rug!

I have an old but favorite carpet, VERY thin wool. This rug pad made ALL the difference! Now instead of sad, I have happy feet when I walk across. I would HIGHLY recommend this for thin carpets. I bought 2, but the one intended for use under my thick wool/silk carpet ended up being TOO THICK. I will keep it, however, and use it elsewhere. GREAT pad, easy to cut down where it was slightly larger than my carpet. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

A great value and certainly a great price. Even though color not quite as portrayed or as described we are keeping it as it still works in the room. Have ordered two rugs recently from overstock in this wool with art silk accents . Both are great and I am crazy about the art silk / viscose & wool rug combination as it gives high end interest to a neutral rug

I just received itt by Fedex and it wasn't the rug that is shown in the picture. The one Overstock shipped me is a very old, stained and dirty rug with a white/grey strike. The material is not wool/silk either. Yes, Overstock sent me something completely different. So, I called the customer service and have been told that the rug that is shown in the picture is out of stock. Out of Stock? Ahh..... I see. But.... why wasn't I informed of this before I purchased? And why did you people at Overstock send me a completely different rug that is old and worn out? What a great service!!!

Looks like a synthetic rug. From the photo I had hoped it would look like an aged silk/wool rug. It just looks inexpensive and dirty. I have bought MANY things from O and have been happy with every other item. It was bound to happen at some point and it won't keep me from being a happy return customer. They have many other beautiful rugs and I have several in my home. This one was just a miss.

I wanted a simple, light rug for my family room and this fit the bill perfectly. It is soft underfoot, nicely thick, and looks great. There are slightly different shades or speck of material in the background so it hides well. I also used a fabric protector on the rug since part of it is in a high traffic area.

This was one of those purchases I just didn't know what to expect. What some people think is a nice rug is never the same as my expectations. Well let me tell you this is a nice rug. Its not a hand tuff silk and wool rug but it fits the bill for what i needed it for. The colors are really pretty and the quality is good. I was pleasantly surprised with the light blue color that the pictures really don't show you that pulls all the other colors together. Its too is hard to find black in a rug that doesn't have reds in it so when I saw this one I thought I would take a chance. I loved it so much I bought the round one and the smaller one too. The material doesn't look cheap, the colors are rich and the wool is softer than expected. My house is very rustic and these work perfectly. I bought all three of them on sale for a total of about $325, why spend thousands to achieve the same look. ONLY complaint -the ends are curled badly...takes some time to flatten them out.

We bought this for under our kitchen table. It is great the where we put it. The color is very good. It is not wool or silk but it is still a good rug. I would not recommend it as an area rug, but to go under a sofa or table yes.

I love this rug. The colors are an exact match to how they look on my computer monitor. It really makes the room pop! Yes, it is polypropylene, and no, there is no way anyone is going to mistake this for silk, cotton or wool. There's a little bit of flattening on the shag due to packaging which makes the backing visible through the fibers. But I'm almost positive that's going to clear up once the rug "relaxes" and after I vacuum. So, so glad I too a chance on this rug. It is so perfect for my pop-art, mod home

Amazing quality for the price. Beaiutiful colors. Very minimal sheding so far. The combination of wool and silk makes it very comfy on your feet if you walk bairfoot at home like I do.

I think this rug is absolutely beautiful, but it is NOT SILK. It is made of wool and viscose, which is imitation silk. I may not have purchased this had I known and it is the only reason I give it good instead of excellent ratings, but I love the style of it and for the price decided to keep it. It fits the area I purchased it for beautifully and finding nice non-traditional designs are not the easiest to do.

This rug is absolutely beautiful. It is soft and has no shedding. The red stands out, but it would fit with many color schemes. Because of the shedding problems, I chose the silk and wool. I only wish the site would say how much silk is in the rug. It is soft and laid down with no problems. The perfect rug for my den area. I had just returned two all wool shedders, which would not lay right and were so stiff to the touch. This design is superior as well as the workmanship. Just delighted.

Fast Shipping, Perfect Condition, Extremely Good Price, Almost No Shed. The wool is not soft as the silk/wool ones, but it is very rich and thick. The major blue color is very close to the picture, but the golden color is NOT, it is actually between light brown and beige. I will give it a 5 stars if the "golden" parts can be more golden.

I love the rug, but it sheds, and sheds and sheds!!! I bought it in April but started using it in July when we moved to our new house. I have to vaccum the rug at least every 3 days and the whole downstairs of our house every 5 because the shedding gets everywhere. It has about 6 months of use and constant vaccuming, and it still have not started to diminish the shedding. it is even in an area where there is not a lot of traffic, and it still sheds. If we spend time in that area, even after just vaccuming, it will need to be vaccumed right away. I have waited for the shedding to diminish, but i have not seen signs of it. It is a shame, because it is a beautiful rug, but I feel that it makes me work a lot more than I should!!!

I took a risk and bought the gray rug without any reviews on here. Turns out the rug was really brownish (though the label said it was the charcoal rug). The material is actually wool and RAYON -- not silk. Also, much more 'patterned' than you can really tell by the pictures which might not be what you're looking for. It's not at all the rug that is described on this website (and not worth the money).... However, I have to say that overstock customer service was great. I called them immediately after the rug was delivered and told them the problem. They arranged for UPS to come pick up my rug from the front office of my apt building -- they handled all the shipping charges. A couple weeks later there was still no refund credited to my account. I called customer service (reached someone easily on the phone both times) -- she apologized and credited my account while I waited on the phone.
