Important to read even with 5 stars
from New York, NY,  Oct 1, 2008

I have been looking for a stove top percolator for ever and finally found it. However is you never had a percolator you will be a little lost. It comes with no instructions. I have and electric one but it shuts off when done, so this one has been trial and error. I found that percolating for 20 mins is perfect and be pretty generous with the coffee. The other issue is when I received the item it literally was tossed into a carton 4x its size with NO wrapping other than a plastic bag it came in about the weight of a glad bag. I can assume from the tossing and turning this product had to go thru via shipping its quite durable. I fault the person(s) who every shipped it for the lack of respectable packaging. I'll tell you this if it on one tiny mark I would of sent it back just to prove a point in the exact way it came. But it was perfect and I totally love it. Remember NO instructions so perk for 20mins and your be fine.

Great cup o' coffee!
from Denver, CO,  Nov 29, 2007

I gave this percolator as a gift to my father for his birthday and it was just what he remembered as a kid growing up. From the 'perk perk' sound to the great coffee brew, this is a great item. Definitely worth the price.

old fashioned coffee
from Jacksonville, FL,  Oct 24, 2007

This is a basic coffee pot - a blast from the past! It brings back memories hearing the sound of the percolater. It makes fine coffee and the pot is sturdy for travel - we use it on camping trips.

Nice to have a coffee pot that's not electric,
from se florida,  Jun 23, 2011

since I live in Florida and we lose power during hurricanes, sometimes for days. Can use this pot on the camping stove which is great, since we don't have a generator. Works great and people comment on it when they see it on the stove.

  • Did the color match the color displayed onsite? yes
  • How is the quality of the product? fine
  • Did the description onsite accurately describe the product? fine

Awesome
 from Houston,TX,  Jan 1, 2010

My husband and myself love the coffee maker. It makes excellent coffee and it does has lines on the side and inside to measure the water correctly. I'm impressed, perculated coffee and electric coffee makers quality are very different. However, it's also economical, no longer requiring filters.

Great Coffee Pot
from New Jersey,  Oct 31, 2009

This is a very sturdy, well made coffee pot. Reminds me of the one my mother used many years ago, only better. The top is hinged, so you don't have to worry about it falling off when you pour coffee. The basket is generously sized and sturdy, has an actual spring in the middle to support the basket. This is a not a light-weight coffee pot. The handle doesn't get hot when the coffee is done, which is a tremendous plus if you have ever burned yourself on a stove top coffee pot. Makes coffee very quickly, Smells great when it's perking. Love the glass top which allows you to see the coffee perking. It's retro but better. Love it.I bought this pot to replace a celebrity endorsed pot I bought in a department store which was more expensive than this one and lasted about two months (the basket fell apart because it had no support and the pot got way too hot to hold). This is a definate upgrade. I'm very satisfied. Excellent value for the money. Thanks, Overstock. I'm in coffee heaven!

great perculator
from New York,  Oct 29, 2009

It''s a perfect size. easy to clean. The only thing I suggest is filling the perculator to 4 and a half cups of water because you want the water to hit the coffee grinds. I notice when I do it that way my coffee taste better and stronger. When it's four cups it's not as strong and less than that your coffee will be very watery.

Coffee Percolator
from Poughkeepsie, NY,  Oct 29, 2009

I gave the percolator as a gift and my friend just loves it. He has bragged about how good the coffee tastes and how hot it is. He and I also love the appearance and durability. I also think I got it for an exceptional price. Nice birthday gift.

Percolator
 from Ireland,  Sep 13, 2009

I have been looking for an inexpensive, stove-top percolator that I can recommend to clients who need to make coffee for use in the Gerson system of treatment for advanced chronic diseases. This machine is perfect for the purpose because as well as being used for normal drinking coffee, it can left boiling for a longer period of time than normal to remove the oils and esters from the coffee for medicinal use. While the price is expensive for the type of unit, it is available and the delivery service is excellent.

I Love It
 from Vermont,  Jul 20, 2009

I had forgotten how nice it is to have HOT coffee. All the drip coffee makers put out warm, but not hot coffee, and I found myself putting it in the microwave just to reheat it. I also like it because unlike the last one I had this one is stainless steel.

Just what I needed.
 from Maryland,  Jun 3, 2009

The coffe percolator came packaged in a box with brown wrapping paper around it. I was surprised at the the sturdiness of the pot like in olden days. There was no plastic parts any where. However it did not have measurement markings on the body, Which would make it faster to pour the water in without premeasuring and it did not come with water to coffee ratio instructions. So I have been experimenting to get the right flavor. My husband suggested we write to a coffee company(ie,Folgers/Maxwell house, etc) to see if they have the measurements for a percolated pot of coffee. I am waiting for a reply. Overall, I love it.

Excellent Purchase
 from Chicago,  Dec 11, 2008

I have been looking for a stove-top percolater for some time. We do a lot of "tailgating" for college football games and this is just perfect for a camper stove or outdoor grill w/a burner. Quality exceeded my expectations. I am very pleased with the purchase.

Very Tasty Coffee
from Jacksonville, FL,  Jun 15, 2008

When I received the peculator I was disappointed that it wasn't electric. My disappointment went to immediate joy after my first cup of coffee. The flavor delivered by this peculator is unbelievable and I will never use a drip coffee maker again. I'm looking to buy a few these for gifts.
