My fiance insists that I declutter our freezer so that our ice maker can do its job. But I haven't been able to do so. While looking at end of year best lists, a blog mentioned this small counter top ice maker with rave reviews from other sites. And it does exactly what it says, quick turn around on ice cubes within minutes (depending on the ambient temperature). The machine is about the size of a bread maker and though it would fit on the counter top, it is large and rather bulky. It is a really simple machine and thus easy to use. Plug in, fill with water, select ice cube size and push power button. In about 15 minutes, you'll have your first batch of ice. It makes an incredible amount of ice with just one water filled tank. The ice does come out kind of wet. However, if you place it into a bag and into the freezer for later use, it is perfect. There is really no "off" button, so I typically unplug it when I am not actively making ice. It does not refrigerate newly made ice but the insulation of the machine may keep it coolish over some time; however it will melt and the water will be recycled to make new ice. From that standpoint, it does not work like your fridge ice maker. Overall, this is a really good price for the product. The bright red reminds me of old fashioned Coca-Cola coolers without the insignia. The machine looks well made and after several uses, there have been no problems. Other reviewers suggested that the machine sit for two hours to let the refrigerant settle before making your first batch of ice. O.com packed it well and it was delivered in a timely manner. I'm excited about the party potential of this machine. And when there are no parties, my Vitamix will be happy to have more ice.

We fish alot. Now there is no reason to buy ice. Just start it, put it in a bag in your freezer . Keep adding to the bag till you get all you need. Always stay ahead of your fishing trips.Great way to save your money... Love it

I wish it made just a tad more ice than 6 pounds at a time, but you have to get a much bigger unit to make more. I bought this for ice for our boat - we were paying $5 to $10 every time we took the boat out, so I figured to give this a try. Plus it would be nice for parties, etc.. It makes enough to 'almost' fill the cooler. Then another is ready in about 12 hours. I had a plumber install it - there were no installation instructions included. It would be very simple if you know anything at all about plumbing. The plumber was only at our house for about 35 minutes! If there would have been instructions, I could have done it; no problem.I have no complaints about this unit. It does what it says and it looks nice! It is a little noisy, but we installed it in the garage.

when the snow flies. What a great deal on this machine. If you read all of the instruction on care and usage this will last you a very long time. I wrapped the bowl in plastic and placed it in the freezer for a few days before I used it. When I finally was ready to use it, I prepared my mixture, and cooled it down, getting it ready to spin. I ran the machine for 35 minutes and it worked like a champ, transferred the spun ice cream into a container and honestly, it was the best ice cream I have ever had. Since I cook privately for select clients, this is a great tool to have for desserts. Clean up is simple, but don't put the bowl in the dishwasher. The stainless steel looks great and easy to clean.

I really love the ice maker. It does a great job of making the ice and I really like the digital readout. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is to me the size of the ice cubes is not significantly different between small, medium and large. I also liked that it was delivered so quickly. Thanks!

We use this on our houseboat, and so far it works great. The only drawback is that it's a little noisey. Other than that it makes great ice cubes that last longer than the ones we buy at the store in the marina.

We live in a small apartment, and of course our fridge doesn't have a ice maker. I was so tired of buying bags of ice, that I decided to look for a counter top ice maker. I came across this and for the price figured I would give it a try. I love it. We have a small kitchen so it is a bit bulky, but other then the size it is awesome.

My wife and I were very happy with both the product and price of the unit. The unit was exactly what we were looking for. We saw similar units in magazines and we were somewhat skeptical of the products advertised. Your unit was surpurb and we expect many years of usage.

Both my husband and I want to express how happy we are with our new ice maker! We've only had it for about a month but we wonder why we didn't purchase this item sooner. We live in a tiny city apartment and so the size of the icemaker fits perfectly on our small kitchenette counter. It's sleek and the red compliments our other red appliances. It's simple to use and I love that you can select from small, medium or large sized ice. We turn it on only when we use it and after only 15-20 mins the icemaker generates approx 1.5-2 cups of medium sized ice. This is so much easier and faster than filling up ice trays and waiting for them to freeze. Overall, it's fairly quiet other than when the ice drops into the tray. We can't imagine hot summers without our new icemaker. I would highly recommend this item if you have a small kitchen space.

Make sure you let this ice maker cycle at least two times before using the ice cubes. This is a great product and we use it to keep our ice maker in our freezer full. Does not keep the ice frozen so be sure to dump cubes into freezer before they start to melt.

When pouring the mixture into the maker things are a little tight, but Oh well. I am so happy we got this ice cream maker, and there are great ice cream recipes on Youtube, too. So far so good!

Pricey, but it does the job well. It's nice to have this in stainless steel. Absolutely no problems and have been using this for several weeks on daily basis.

This is possibly the worst Ice Cream maker I have ever used! You can leave the canister in your freezer until the cows come home and go out again and it will never produce Ice Cream....not even real soft serve! The best you'll ever get is a very cold medium viscosity thick shake for all your trouble and costly ingredients! Part of the problem is the fact that some of the moving parts are plastic and do not hold cold well. The other part of the problem is that the material they use inside the canister to "freeze" the ingredients begin to melt before the recommended mixing time is through...about 20-25 minutes. It just does not hold the cold long enough. Adding more time to the mixing does nothing but soften it further and no one wants that. I have been through the wars with Hamilton Beach on this maker and they simply do not get it! nor will they improve it. If you make the mistake of putting your result in the freezer to freeze it into ice cream you will have a product which cannot be scooped...it will be as hard as a rock with not the slightest hint of true Ice Cream texture. Forget this maker...it's garbage!

We love this ice-maker. It's not tiny, but we entertain frequently and this is always a life-saver at parties! It's easy to use and makes quite a lot of ice. It's a little noisy...but other than that, it prevents us from having to go to the store to buy ice.

Ice maker was easy to install as I was replacing an existing ice maker with this unit and already had the water line plumbed. this machine turned on and started making ice within 45 minutes. the next day the bin was full. I dumped it out and checked on it again in about 24 hours and it was full again. this unit is exactly as advertised. cubes are nice and crisp and dry and not all wet like some icemakers that cause all the cubes to stick together. I wish the in were a little larger but at this price this icemaker can't be beat.

This ice cream bowl is great, just like all of the attachments for my Kitchen Aid mixer. I am completely satisfied and would recommend it to a friend. I really like that it takes up so little space compared to my 4 qt ele ice cream maker, and I don't need ice or salt.
