The lid does not seal at all. I have to put tin foil on the top of the crock or all the juices evaporate quickly. The electronics are great.

This was purchased for a professional cake decorator and pastry/cookie maker. I am an electronics and nuclear engineer and can say for a small appliance I am impressed with these machines. There isnt much I would change and we are happy with the mixer, it's already seen a lot of heavy work and hopefully will for years to come. To make things even better getting parts will always be easy if and when anything ever does fail. In my opinion finding a deal on the professional 600 with the 575watt motor is worth the money, I mean we purchased this for around the msrp of the classic 250w model, cant go wrong.

I was so tired of toasters (even fairly high priced ones) going on the blink in next to no time. One even had an electronic part go wrong and would have cost more to fix than to buy another one! I read the reviews of other people who had had similar experiences and had finally bought a Cuisinart and were very satisfied. I have only had mine a few weeks, but so far, so good. It looks very nice and pops up high enough so there's no problem removing the toast. The settings are very useful, so I think it's an overall very good design.

My wife bought this for me last May (2013). When I got it, I was ecstatic about it. I went out and bought my first keg, which was Newcastle. Put the keg in and waited for it to get cool. I waited 24 hours like it said. Then I went for the fist pour and nothing but foam came out. That was because the beer wasn't cold. So I waited another 24 hours and the same thing. So I contacted Edgestar about the problem and they gave me some tips, like make sure there is enough room behind the kegerator for air flow and make sure you chill the keg beforehand. I did all that and still had 60 degree beer. So they sent me a cooling node to replace the one that is in the unit. There were no instructions, just "take a look at this YouTube video for a different model and see if that will help." So I did end up replacing the cooling node by myself. I started over with a new chilled keg and same thing; 60 degree beer after 24 hours. The keg had been refrigerated for two days in the fridge beforehand. So then I just shelved the thing and basically forgot about it until yesterday when I contacted support again to see if they could help with the problem (Feb. 2014, still within the 1 year warranty). They told me that there is only a 90 day warranty on the labor and that I would have to pay*** in labor to have them fix it. Otherwise I would have to take it to a small appliance repair shop and let them fix it (which I would have to pay them labor for). The parts are covered for a year, but nothing else. So in short, their support sucks. They are unresponsive and not helpful at all. I would recommend the Krups model if you just want to get pressurized kegs. If you want to have your own kegs, then you will have to find a model that will work, but I wouldn't suggest anything made by Edgestar. I'm an IT guy and I am very good with electronics, so I'm going to try to fix this myself.

This stand-mixer was designed in good old fashion way. I've tested it making bread which causes a lot of mechanical forces. The frame of this stand was not bending like at the device I was using before. I made also beaten egg whites using only two eggs. The electronic inside was designed very secure and safe: If the device is in switched on position and you plug in the connector - the machine will not start. You must put the switch in off position and then on again to start the mixer. It works in my country, where we have 230 Volts @ 50Hz. I use a 1000 Watts transformer to get the 115V for this device. There is only one little strage behavior, which is not really a problem: on speed position 2 the motor is not running very constant buts it is working without any problem. I suppose this is because of the lower 50Hz in austria, in the US you have 60Hz.

I purchased this for my 12y/o grandson's birthday. He is a sports and electronic junky and it seems that everything I get him just doesn't do the trick. So...since I saw him eating snow cones at his friend's Bar Mitzvah a couple months ago, I thought...hmmm...so I ordered this machine. He freaked out when he opened the box! Fortunately, I asked mom & dad to buy extra bags of ice for his party and I made the syrup myself thanks to the internet. They went thru 1.5 bags of ice and over a double recipe of syrup. The kids were lined up for hours, finishing one and coming back for another. This was the best investment I've ever made and I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their kids busy for days on end, especially with the summer heat we've endured. The quality of the machine was more than I expected, and I'm so grateful that it included 2 plastic cone cups with bases. It arrived right on schedule and was packaged very well. My only regret is that I can't find the plastic cones that come with the machine. The paper ones practically disintegrate before the ice is gone.

It may be a bit early. I bought it here. I picked up the 4 year extended warranty. It is the type of electronic item that can fail so wanted the extra coverage and Overstock's warranties are some of the best out there. I also had a 10% off special and that applied to the warranty. Overall the lowest prices including shipping on line anywhere was beat by approx 60 dollars if you were looking for another 4-5 year warranty. In otherwords I paid the going lowest price and got the warranty for 30.00. We let the item sit on even cement pad for 24 hours before trying it out. It hit the temp we were set to within half an hour. We turned it off and the next day we tried a colder temp and again it went right to it. Then we had reason to set it up for approx 3 days at 40 degrees to use as a fridge. It held it right on. Occasion over shoot up and down but basically it was right on the money. We put a fridge thermometer inside and it looks like it's running nice. IT IS QUITE. At least this unit is amazingly quiet so far. Some reviewers on other sites complained. Our intention is to run it in the car by 12V. Also set it up for tent camping with a 12 volt battery and a solar recharger for summer time. And on occasion it'll make a great back up. The size and weight is heavy pay attention. But I'll load the baskets then place them into the chest. Our main purpose of use will be to use in car as we are 90 miles away from major shopping and 164 to reach a city of any decent size. So this well help us bring back cold and frozen food items year round. We have a small SUV and will take out one half of the split back seat and set it in sideways. Not a lot of room. but enough. Will store it in garage most of the not in use time. I will look into seeing if the lid needs to be left ajar to prevent funky odors. Often it's a good idea with refridgerators and freezers of any size. I would recommend but it's expensive despite being one of the least expensive models or brands. Main failures of this item is the 12Volt Plugs. Both the male ends some reviewers mentioned replacing via plugs or whole cord units from Radio Shack or similar. We are electronic savy so decided it wouldn't be an issue. Also another complaint from a few reviewers is it sometimes seems to get set at one temperature and won't allow you to choose warmer or colder. I recommend unplugging and allowing it to come back to room temperature and then after a respectful amount of time say 12-24 hours unplugged and warmed up...try pluging it in and reseting the temp to the colder or warmer one you wanted. Some electronic's respond to this reset technique. Usually Overstock does not allow one to return to add more information at a later date or updates so I know I'm jumping the gun and will wait at least 6 months to turn in a review on another popular site where they allow anyone to do so. Here is to Happy Road Trips.

Very nice product. It seems to be holding up well. However, I have seen ones with a "real" brand name for the same price, or even cheaper. If this works, this is fine, but it wasn't a bargain like I had hoped it would be.

I have been using this mini chopper for a long, long time and have never had a problem with it. I just made some killer salsa. I live in my RV so space is an issue, which this thing is small enough and recommended for RVers. Since its low on watt consumption its not stressing to my inverter. An for those housewives, this is a great gadget for small jobs when you don't want to haul out my food processor.
