Apothecary Media Storage Cabinet

I purchased this item for my dvd collection. I wanted a piece of furniture that would look great in my living room and still give me the ease of seeing the titles with the glass doors. The directions were very good and I put it together by myself in about 1 hour. The shelves were perfect for the dvds. The Apothecary Media Storage Cabinet looks wonderful, gives me ease to find movies, and has solved my storage problem.

This furniture has been a great addition to our living room. It presents the DVD's/CD's nicely in its case. It is very sleek and the color of the wood is complimentary to everything else we have for decor. It has great appeal when you walk into the room. It was the perfect size because it fits flat against the wall that is near a walkway--this unit is not bulky. Everything on the unit is functional except the sliding doors (glass doors not the small pull out wood drawers or wood cabinet) could be better designed when you use them - the doors look great but when you try to open them, they are rather clunky and are kinda of large for the available space for them to slide on - this is by design because the doors are tall but the unit itself in comparison is narrow in length - this is what makes the unit standout and appealing to the eye - if the company put better sliders on, most of the issue would be resolved. With that being said though, I would buy it again. It holds my DVDs, CD's, Wii games and accessories, and I use one of the small drawers for my car keys and wallet.Now, the largest concern you may have is the assembly. It took way longer (and I'm an engineer, lol) than it should have but this is probably because they used the approach to have many small pieces that you can properly package and ensure there would be no damage - and their method worked - there was absolutely no damage or scratches or missing pieces. However, be prepared because what you get when you open the box is a half-day project with assembly and re-drilling holes because the pre-existing holes were mis-aligned - I was able to drill the new holes in a location so that when you install the handle, it covers up the mfg's mistake. Important...you need a drill for this...because the wood is nice and sturdy, you will not be able to muscle a new hole by using a screw driver and the screw - mostly because the screw is too small.Hope this review helps in your decision.

Love it. It looks great, not too hard to put together and it fit in our small hallway perfectly. We are using it for storage right outside a very small bath. The top is for things you do not want everybody to see and the bottom I am using like a curio cabinet

I ordered this piece for the hallway outside my bathroom in my tiny DC condo. I'm using it to hold bath towels, etc. The finish is a nice dark expresso. The wood is a good quality and the finish is impecable. It will be a piece that lasts. However, it comes in many many small pieces. It took me two evenings to put together. I'm sure it wouldn't have taken so long if I wasn't socializing and drinking a bottle of wine while I did it! Ha ha! One important note- the small screws are for the back panel and the tiny tiny screw are for the apothocary drawer handles. I got this reversed at first, which was a pain. The drawers don't slide really smoothly, but that is the only downside.
