so beautiful & practical
I went looking for a fire place cover when our son started crawling to keep him safe. I found this one and ordered it straight away. Shipping took a little way, but when it arrived it was worth the wait! It is beautifully ornate (but not over-showy) and looks so cozy in our living room. It also stays cool even with a fire burning behind it for a long while. It has kept our son safe, but also really upped the look of our house. We love it!

Green metal?? Uhm Sure
You can tell they painted this fireplace screen and now the cheap coloring is wasting off and revealing a green metal screen. It looks absolutely ridiculous and now I have to get it painted. BUYER BEWARE.

Attractive, Sturdy, and Practical
This fireplace screen is sturdier and better assembled than I had expected. It's not the most decorative screen out there, but it was decorative enough for my taste, and is very sturdy and rather heavier than I thought it would be. The hinges are not wobbly at all. In fact, it takes a little effort to move the panels (I consider this a good thing). Also, it actually looks better in person... the metal really does look antique/distressed, with hints of raw metal peaking out from behind the dark paint. It just arrived today so I haven't had a chance to "use" it, but I'm sure it will work just fine. Behind the decorative and structural metal work is a wire-mesh screen, which appears sufficient to hold back any embers that try to crackle or pop out. The only drawback is that it is made in China, but a note packaged with it assured me that the paint is non-toxic... and had another note not said "Made in China," I never would have guessed. In summary, short of being made in China (which is almost unavoidable these days and not that important anyway), this is an ideal fireplace screen. Decorative but not gaudy, sturdy and heavy. Really, this was much nicer than some much more expensive screens I've seen in stores (*****,**********).

Nice, but color was a little off the photo.
Nice quality product. I did not realize that there were fleur di leis in the pattern but I do like them. Color is like a really dark, green but it works. Is an attractve piece in our room.

Super Pleased!
I could not be happier with my fireplace screen. It looks wonderful and was very easy to place in front of my fireplace. The piece, however, does have a sturdy (somewhat heavy) construction. I expect that it will last for years to come.

Perfect Screen
This screen is really much nicer than the picture represents. The color is green as another reviewer stated; however, it is verdigris with antique brass accents. I was absolutely delighted.
