  • Beautiful light

    I love this light, in fact I purchased two of them! I am a picky person and researched for weeks. I swear this looks exactly like the light at the PB. The light is heavy and well made. I have one hanging over my kitchen island and one in my master bath over a clawfoot tub. I have 10' ceilings and still had to remove some links of chain, so if your ceilings are lower than that. you may not be able to hang it with much chain showing. I still think it would look good. If you are thinking about ordering this light, do it! You will not be sorry. It's stunning and would look great in a modern setting since it has so much glass and equally as well in a vintage setting (like mine) since it resembles a big glass jar. Enjoy!

  • This lantern requires a lot of patience!!!

    I was excited to find an inexpensive substitute for a spendier lamp to hang over my kitchen island. Just as other reviewers have said, I had to gently bend the 'candles' to appear more upright-- no big deal. My issue is that the glass does not fit snugly in the ring so I had to spend time moving the glass 'slightly to the left' and 'a smidge to the right' so that the candelabra is centered in the glass. It looks like it came off the scratch and dent shelf unless you get the glass perfectly centered, which I haven't managed yet on one of the lights. I am developing patience though.

  • Great looking, but it is a bug catcher

    As other reviewers noted, this looks pretty darn similar to the Hundi Lantern on another more expensive company's website. I really like the way this looks hanging in my stairwell, but when I showed it to my husband, his first words were "bug catcher" and it pretty much is. It's easy to unhook the 3 prongs around the bowl and clean the bugs out, but its something to think about if you are considering this light and how high it will be, how much trouble it will be to clean it out regularly. Assembly and installation were super easy, overall, I'm very happy with it.

  • Amazing Piece!

    I bought this light fixture to hang over my kitchen sink. I love it so much! I get tons of compliments and it really brightens my my kitchen. Before this fixture, we just had a recessed can light and this puts off so much more light in the entire room. It is beautiful. I can't say enough wonderful things about this product. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. Extremely fast shipment, all pieces & parts were there, easy to install. If you're on the fence, buy it now! You won't be disappointed.

    Love how it looks! I have been wanting to get this from Pottery Barn ever since I saw it but it was so expensive. It lived up to my expectations.

    I am in the process of hanging these light fixtures and cannot get the glass level in the ring. If the glass is level then the center of the light fixture is off. I love the look of the fixture, but wish the quality controls were better on the ring that holds the glass and the way it hangs. I also noted that the ground wire is silver and somewhat shows instead of a copper color that would have been undetected. They are somewhat larger than I expected and instead of three on my 8ft 6in island, I may need only three.

  • This is truly beautifyl

    First purchase from overstock.com. Very impressed. Came packaged extremely well. Easy to install and hang. Have received many compliments.   • Nice looking chandeliers

    We are very happy with the two lights we ordered. They came quickly and were packaged quite well...no issues. They are large lights, but work well over our 12 foot dining table. As other reviewers noted, they can sit a little crooked, but easy to fix or you just stop noticing. They do require more cleaning due to being glass and bowl shaped. Love them!

  • LOVE this light fixture

    I have not one bad thing to say about this light fixture. I really wanted the Hundi Lantern fixture from Pottery Barn a few years ago for above our kitchen island, but did not want to spend the $$. So when this appeared on Overstock for half the cost and free shipping, I was all over it. I'll start with the fact that we have a Pottery Barn lantern fixture hanging over our kitchen table.... when we put this one up, it makes that PB one look like crap (which we now want to replace). My husband said installation of this fixture was the easiest he's ever experienced. We are so thrilled with this purchase. I'm sure it will catch bugs, but we knew that just from looking at the design - cleaning it will be a little more work than normal. Quality for price is just awesome.

  • Elegant!

    We bought 3 of these to put up over a large island in our kitchen. They are just beautiful, but they are quite big, so we sent one back, as we only needed two! They are elegant and gave the kitchen a distinct flair! I just love these lights! I was very happy with the quality and the look of them!

Hello ljh4833, Yes this would hang down from your ceiling 3 feet 3 inches. So that would leave you with about 5 feet under the light. The chain is adjustible if you wanted to make the light higher. P.S I love this style! Thank you for shopping with us! overstockcustomercare1 on May 30, 2013

I have 10 ft ceilings and hung this over the bar. This allows me to have the visual of 1/3/1/3 1/3 and it is visually correct. I think it would be fine over dining room table, but it has a large globe. laweir on Jun 7, 2013

It Requires three (3) 60-watt candelabra (E12) bulbs (not included) and I am not sure what is meant by "candle covers because this doesn't have one. It has a glass bulb bowl and that can be replaced by the manufacturer other than that, if that does not help, please let us know and we will get the information you need. Here is what I do for replacement candle covers. Go to your local Habitat Restore, Salvation Army or Goodwill, where you may find the basic candle covers that you need. Krylon make an awesome oil rubbed bronze spray paint. I have used this paint for lamp bases, towel bars, etc. It matches well and doesn't look 'painted'. Good Luck! lacicat on May 1, 2013

I have two of these lanterns - in my kitchen and bathroom. They are not too heavy but I made sure that the contractor used a metal box instead of a plastic one in the ceiling. I have 10' ceilings and can only use about a foot of the chain. These would not work on an 8' ceiling at all. You might be able to use on a 9' but you will not have much of the chain. These are the same lights offered from Pottery Barn. I love them, although they are a mess to clean. lacicat on May 1, 2013

Thank you for your inquiry. The chandelier is antique copper and very similar to bronze just darker. I personally think it will coordinate well with bronze fixtures but that is just my opinion. Very difficult once installed. You have to try to get your hand in there around the light bulbs. And while hanging, this is difficult, especially if hung over a table as I have it. melisachicago79 on Mar 28, 2013
 
I unhooked the glass globe to take the glass part down to clean, then put it back up. It takes two people, but that was the easiest way I found since the fixture hangs over the kitchen island. michelesimms on Mar 28, 2013

We have VERY high ceilings (20 ft). I see that the product has a little over 3 ft worth of chain with another approximate 3 ft worth of light fixture ... so if I'm doing my math correctly, the light base would hang 6 ft from the ceiling. I imagine you could buy a piece of chain to replace the one that comes with the fixture as long as you could find a similar finish. However, you will need enough wiring to reach the ceiling, and I'm betting it does not come with enough for your tall ceilings. I'm looking into this fixture but have the same problems with high ceilings that you do!  on Jul 16, 2012

You could hang this chandelier underneath a covered porch. The only problem I could see is that due to changes in weather, the glass could easily be broken or you could have electrical problems if water or snow comes into contact with it. overstockcustomercare1 on Apr 6, 2012
