Solid finished product! Love the color, clean and modern feeling w/a touch of distress.Instructions were difficult to follow, it's one big illustration with a lot of numbering, dotted lines, etc.We got it together in about an hour but not without frustration. Well worth the money, it looks great in the entryway as a catch all for keys, purse, etc.
The shelf arrived in great condition, in record time. It was no more difficult to assemble than any other furniture requiring assembly, and is very sturdy. And the "antiquing" effect looks just fine. Glad I didn't take to heart all of the comments here concerning assembly and "scratches" ... if you've got 30 minutes and reasonable intelligence, you'll do just fine and have a beautiful shelf.
When I got this I thought that it was damaged. I contacted Overstock and they told me that was intentional. Of course the description doesn't say as much but as I was directed, I enlarged to picture and noticed it does have some 'antiqued' edges. I probably would have returned it if it wouldn't have cost a fortune to return it. The directions might as well have been in Chinese and 2 hours later and half of the shelf installed backwards it was finally put together. I now have books over the screws on my backward shelf because there was no way I was going to take it apart and start again. Finally, when I had it in place in our bedroom, my husband walked in and said, what's up with the edges on that? I think you got a damaged one. I then had to pull up the picture and show him this was intentional. It looks nice enough but I'm not impressed with the quality.
Product arrived in estimated time in good condition. Took a little time to put together but it's a solid book shelf and holds a lot. Only problems were one or two nicks/scratches on the edges (maybe from shipping). After putting it all together, it just wasn't worth the hassle to disassemble and return. Overall, we're pleased with the unique design and ease of purchase.
We love the look and it was very easy to assemble. We bought this as a bookshelf for our baby's nursery. For the price, we like it. We like the design of the shelf as well.
