I bought two of these after reading all of the positive reviews. I have to agree with others; they are great! They have enabled me to turn my rarely used guest bedroom into an office space with a couch (I pushed them together and added fun pillows and a throw). Now I have a cute, comfortable, spacious little room 355 days a year, and two foldout beds for guests 10 days a year (I figure why waste an entire room to only be used 10 days a year? We only have 3 bedrooms anyway!) They are quite firm, and I agree they will need a comfy overlay for American guests. I predict European and Asian guests will like them just fine. I think each one took approx 15 minutes to put together, including getting them out of the box. Although my husband helped me carry them upstairs, I didn't need help putting them together. The boxes were quite damaged, but the chairs were fine. The only surprise I had was that the foam pillow insert was backwards for one of the chairs. Luckily I had two chairs, and could see how it was supposed to look from the other chair. No problem, I just unzipped the pillow cover and flipped it around. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase! And it arrived in only 3 days!

I had been looking for a daybed or something to put into my office for friends or guests that would visit and need a place to sleep. i am happy with the way the chair looks and it does do its purpose - so for the money, which was my deciding factor, I can't complain. It is firm, which is nice, but not that it does sit veriy close to the floor when used as a bed. I do like the fact that you can use this as a chair, chaise and bed so it is veriy versatile.

The chair arrived in just 3 days. It was easy to set up and is easy to use. Instructions included with the chair are almost useless, but we discovered how it worked very easily. It is red with an undertone of black giving it a rich red effect. The material is very sturdy, but still comfortable. The chair is well made and the mechanism and adjustable legs (for converting to a bed) function well. As a bed the mattress is firm but not uncomfortable though I don't think an average person would want to sleep on it for more than a few nights at a time. The chair is lower to the floor than most chairs/couches so I usually put my feet up on a footstool. We have located the chair in a small room we use as an office/den. Its size makes it a perfect fit.

This item seemed to fit the bill for what I needed and the price was right. I liked the mod look as well. Unfortunately the fabric on the seat cushion is already starting to pill which I would say is the biggest drawback. When used as a bed... it sits a little to low to the floor for my liking. Comfort wise, as a chair... it's a bit hard. So all in all, it's just okay.

I'm disappointed in this chair. It is very uncomfortable to sit in. The back cushion hits the back wrong and the fabric is very coarse;

This is a great, modern piece that works well. When we use it for a bed for guests, we do place a camping pad on top because it is too firm to be comfortable otherwise.

It arrived in one box, which was light enough to slide by one's self. However, I am small and would need a second person to help me lift the box if the delivery man had not brought it up the stairs to my front door (second floor apartment). It literally took 5 minutes to assemble once the box was open (which didn't take long at all). I wanted another chair/sofa for visitors to sit on that would be easy for me to move in and out of the front door. I ordinarily would not have purchased a red piece of furniture; however, it looked easy to move in and out of the apartment. The red turns out to be a nice cheerful color that accents the room. The fact that it opens up into a lounger or bed is also very nice because now I have a place for overnight guests to sleep.

I brought two chairs to accommodate any overnight guest my daughter might bring home from college. Even though no one has yet slept on them, I think they were a great buy. They look great, fit the space perfectly and were easy to assemble.

Purchased this chair for a spare bedroom. We were very pleased with quality of product and quick service/delivery of chair. The chair as a bed has already been used by a weekend guest who described it as very comfortable. Converting the chair to a bed is extremely easy. Twin sheets are somewhat loose, but functional. We added a thin memory foam pad to add to the softness. We would purchase this product again.

Am very pleased. It is the best solution found to our occasional need for an extra bed. It makes a FIRM bed but has been put to the test and found quite "sleepable". Not much assembly required and easily done. Easy to transform from chair to chaise to bed. Wish we had found it earlier.

This chair bed fills a need I had for extra sleeping when having visitors. It complements the arrangement of my study with its design and color. I was pleased to see the way it easily turned from a chair into a bed. It's streamlined and yet sturdy. The surface is very firm and it does require a mattress pad or other softening layer, but that's true of almost any bed. I would get another one if I needed more space. It's more functional and comfortable than a sleeper sofa.

Thank you brazeltov for that hysterical review! Thanks to you, I am now the proud owner of the Anise Red Convertible Chair/Bed, which I also have in my office. Before I got this piece, my office was totally drab and I felt like a total drip, because of ho-hum colors like black and brown. No wonder I had trouble staying awake. What a bore. Now, with this burst of color, I have a lot more energy during the day -- and a comfy place to crash if I ever need to.

The delivery was very fast. I got it in a week and the quality is great! It is sturdy and firm, just what I like.

I have seen this chair other places at a much higher price so when I was it here on Overstock I grabbed it! Being a designer I used it in a girl's bedroom as an extra bed for when her friends sleep over - so much nicer and easier than a trundle bed....she loves it and uses it herself. It was very easy to put together, the fabric is a wonderful textured red/black weave and the quality is high. If I had room in my apartment I would buy one for myself. Thanks Overstock for a great piece at the best price around.

We just love it! We have it in our boys study, they can lounge there and when their cousins come over, they can sleep on it. It is easy to assemble and easy to use.

Arrived in perfect shape, very quickly, and no problem with the shipping. After reading the reviews, I ordered 2 for our home office/backup guest room. Extremely easy to put together, did it myself in about 10 minutes. Like the red color as it is not a harsh red. Though the legs have gliders on them, we are adding additional ones so that the pieces can be pushed where ever we or a guest(s) want in the room. The 2 look great pushed together. Like that they are not bulky and overwhelm the room as a sleeper sofa would have. These provide us with a lot of options as to how we want to use them in the room. The welding on the legs is a little sloppy, but as you can't see that I guess it doesn't matter as much.

Delivery was quick -- within a week of ordering. It took longer to unpack the chair (about 15 minutes) than to put it together (about 5 minutes) -- this doesn't take into account cutting up the cardboard (another 15 minutes) so it would fit into my recycle bin... The chair is a nice Christmas red and the fabric has a clean, tweedy look and feel. It easily clicks from a chair to a bed and fits in my home office perfectly. I feel that my money was well spent. I appreciated being able to read customer reviews while I decided on my Overstock.com purchase. I hope that my review helps someone too!

We purchased this for a spare room that we transformed into a dressing room. It is a perfect addition to our funky room and added a cool pop of color!

No-one has slept on this yet, but it looks like a solid, useful extra bed. It's not bad as a chair, though the fabric is a little corporate waiting room (hence 4 stars). But the style is simple and functional, and the conversion to a bed is brilliantly simple.
